In this post (https://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11946838&postcount=360) I clearly stated it canât be done overnight, and therefore it must take at least several days (day-night-day-night-day).
-
Days not hours, as Iâve previously told you in this very thread.
-
You ignored entirely what I said in the original post (again!) and chose to ignore it (again!)which is why I picked on the inaccuracies in your post - feel free to go back and read it. Iâm not going to repeat myself.
-
If you look at Real Time Trains youâll see that this is due to tram trains being held at Parkgate due to a late running Northern service. Not sure what you expect Supertram to do about that?
-
All the class 399 vehicles meet the same standards, the Siemens fleet on the other hand...
-
I get that, but the poster I was replying to suggested that the trams which used to run to Meadowhall during a week day (which was always a Siemens tram) could be used to run to Parkgate. I didnât understand how your point was related to that, thatâs what confused me.
-
Sorry - whatâs your point?
-
Itâs been years since the purple route ran to Meadowhall during the week. But that isnât the issue - there are enough trams but it canât just be switched to a Tram Train overnight.
-
Theyâre preparing another Citylink to run on network rail but this doesnât happen overnight and needs commissioning with its tram train wheel sets on. The trams which ran to Meadowhall on purple only did so on a Sunday - today is Wednesday (is it not?).
-
I donât think anybody at Supertram could have anticipated their spare tram being taken out of action on the first day of service. One of the unfortunate side effects of that is that if another tram needs maintenance etc then there isnât a tram available to replace it.
-
Itâs difficult - the CCTV, presumably based on statements from Supertram, shows the tram had a proceed. The lorry couldnât therefore have had a green, but the right filter lane normally shows a green when straight on is at a red. Unless the lorry had a dash cam there will be no video evidence that the lorry passed a red. UTC can do a download of the signals at that junction which will what aspect the tram had and the state of the traffic signals. The reason the tram was derailed so badly must be because it was âdraggedâ by the lorry. It wouldnt move so much if the lorry was stationary. Indeed 70+ tonne of tram would have pushed the lorry in the direction of the tramâs travel. I also understand witnesses at the scene confirmed this sequence of events. I feel for the staff involved and the company - a day which should have been largely positive for them has been ruined by an idiot driver.
-
Tram had a proceed. Lorry went through a red light at quite some speed. Not much else to debate.
-
Have a chat with them on a morning as they're boarding the tram. All the surveys data etc shows they are.
-
Which is a shame because thereâs so much waste land around there it wouldnât be hard to build a decent sized park and ride. If thereâs nowhere for the good folk of Rotherham to park thereâs no incentive for them to stop using the park and ride facilities in Sheffield (Meadowhall/Valley/Ikea).
-
Itâs already been confirmed on the Supertram twitter feed that there will be some park and ride spaces next to the tram stop at Parkgate.
-
Apologies Andy - I was referring to the leaflet and I hadnât noticed it was on there! 27th April 2019!
-
Actually Annie, my quotes are from the exact same sections of the code as yours are ??

If they are introducing a new ticket, and this promotional period is time limited then they are breaking both the law and the advertising standards authority guidelines as âmarketers will [likely] need to state when the introductory offer will end.â and this is probably relevant âClosing dates are listed in rule 8.17 as being a significant condition which ought to be included in marketing communications where not doing so could be misleading.â

As the ticketing is the same as the trams then they will be accepted. Youâre over complicating things again.
-
Well, it is a drama.
-
Seriously?
-
The tram side of things is still being adjusted.
-
Thereâs plenty of time on the Supertram side of things, except for the fact that, (if youâve spent any time at Cathedral or Tinsley observing/taking photographs youâll have noticed) there is a yellow always directly in front or behind depending on whether the yellow route is on time or not.

The conductor is wrong. All tram only tickets (daily, weekly, monthly, unirider etc) will be valid to Rotherham. Citywide and tickets which are âand busâ will not be valid (blame Stagecoach bus who wanted nothing to do with the ticketing). The more expensive mega rider tram+bus tickets will not be valid, but cheaper tram only ones will be. ---------- Post added 05-10-2018 at 19:12 ---------- Thatâs because they havenât been announced yet. You wonât be able to search for something which hasnât been announced! However youâll be looking at a short distance fare & return being between Arena and Parkgate, and see my other post regarding weekly tickets. I believe they are planning on releasing timetable details and fares next week.
