  1. That's what it looked like today as I walked out of the Dainton building. There were 5/6 cars in the bus lane facing a red light for about 5 minutes, eventually after much tooting the front car bust the red light and all was good again.
  2. I was early october, and I seem to remember paying something like £5 for a rum and coke... >.<
  3. I hate it. I'm lost, confused and eww! The red is horrible, and it totally grabs your concentration... even when concentrating on looking for a specific link, I can't help being drawn to the red block. There's far too much white space, and the home page is hardly 'welcoming'!
  4. I've been twice, and it was dire both times. Drinks are a rip off, the music is mainstream and nothing exciting, and the whole 'student only' makes it kinda boring.
  5. There's not going to be any strict controls over who goes in, although there's going to be certain controls in order to ensure there's a decent atmosphere. It's going to be a chav free zone, no trackies, no trainers, no caps etc etc etc. Groups of lads are going to be strained in, and yes - it's aimed more at the professional market. Flyers are starting to appear around town, and they sound pretty classy. Having been inside a fair few times, it's nothing like mingdom, and from what I know it's not going to attract a similar number of clientel. It's more of what I'd call a cocktail bar, with a huge range of spirits available, and it's not going to be all that cheap. And apparently, it's opening on Valentines Day. And no - it's not a club, and I believe the capacity is around the 900-1000 mark.
  6. Never have a problem with the 60's except when I'm trying to get into town! Was on the way into work last night, and 5 60's were heading out of town up towards broomhiill, and a not a single one was heading into town. Ended up walking all the way. Although as for the prices and reliability. I used to live up on Teesside, and Arriva provide the transport services up there, the buses never turn up, and when they do they're some crummy 16 seater that's full, and if you do get on it, it can cost you up to £2.50 to travel 3 miles!!!!
  7. I need the sandals. I've got the volvo key ring, and the broadsheet is easy... but now where would one buy a pair of sandals in Sheffield (excluding M&S) I'm on the look out for a few different nights in Sheffield, particularly Jazz & Soul, so if anybody does check a few of the nights out, please let me know if you enjoying them :-) D
  8. It's nothing like another Kingdom. It's much more stylish, much more trendy, and it's not exactly what I'd call studenty in any way! It's definatly worth checking out when it opens I think. I'll be there after the initial rush has died down a little bit.
  9. From the 17th February give Crystal a try on Carver Street!
  10. Being a Sheffield Virgin... where abouts is this 'Green Room'?
  11. I just finished working at a restaurant that I was at for two years, so I certainly understand about the packing people in like Sardines! I'm kind of worried about this V'Day weekend, I figure everywhere is going to busy Fri, Sat, Sun & Monday and making a weekend of it. I'm considering taking her up North for the weekend for a little romantic get away instead of spending it in Sheffield. That way I can guarantee a quiet table, in a quiet restaurant at a place I used to work at, where they won't pile 'em high. Still 3 weeks left to decide. I need to start sampling eating out in Sheffield more... I haven't really eaten out here at all since I moved here, save for McDonalds!
  12. Looking for somewhere nice and quiet for a Valentines night meal. I'm not too bothered about the price, and looking for somewhere, fairly quiet with a decent range of food. I'm not up for a big, 'corporate' place, and I'm more interested in people's recommendations than anything else! Not really explored anywhere to eat in Sheffield yet, at least not for a 'special' meal!
  13. It's due to open 17th Feburary, and as far as I know it's on time. Training commences for the staff this week. Food Menu looks extensive, as does the Wine & Spirit selection. The place is clearly different from everywhere in Sheffield, and is aiming for a totally different market... Given the amount of market research they've done on it, I can't imagine it not suceeding. Time will tell.
