We've bought two from this ebay person http://stores.ebay.co.uk/show-dog-products and they are really sound and have had no problems with them. -
Street lights in Hillsborough park
thomsongirl replied to semerpus's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Some of the lights are working now, which is great. But hubby told me how he's already seen a kid in broad daylight chucking sticks up at them - so I doubt they will last long. -
Dog Poo Fixed Penalty Tickets!
thomsongirl replied to Henrietta's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
They do issue fines in Sheffield. I was nearly issued one early this year in Hillsborough Park. I was livid as I had picked the dog mess up and put it in a normal bin. He let me off after I looked at him in disbelief at his suggestion of I won't fine you if you get it out of the bin!!! I would have accepted the fine if I hadn't picked the dog mess up, but I always clean up after my two dogs. -
I found information about a breed rescue for Akita's if this is any help. Also have a look at http://www.dogpages.org.uk as this is a dog rescue site full of rescuers who can point you in the right direction. Akita Welfare Trust Mr and Mrs Parsons, Gloucester, Tel: 0870 7805298

These have both been recommended by people whose's dogs have used them. I haven't seen the dogs personally, just pictures from another forum. http://www.eddieswheels.com/ http://www.dogmobile.uk.com

We part exchanged about 6/7 years ago. We got less than market value (not sure by how much though), just remember it being lower than when we had it on the market. They don't give you any of the incentives if you are part exchanging. We tried to bargain for them, but they would only leave the carpets in the deal, as it was too much trouble taking them back up again!

Thinking of buying a digital DAB radio - any recommendations?
thomsongirl replied to Zinger549's topic in General Discussions
I have a Bug. I like it, I think it sounds good and looks good. It has quite a few features, but I don't use any of them really. I know somebody who uses it as an alarm and they are really happy with it too. Digital radio sounds better to me, but then I was never able to tune a station in without hearing some intereferance. With my Digital radios I don't get any of that and sounds nice and crisp to me. -
Isn't it about time we all stopped buying trimmings?
thomsongirl replied to yosser_huges's topic in General Discussions
I'm called a grump, because I really can't be bothered with all the christmas malarky. I can't be bothered to trim up and I can't be bothered to send cards to people. The only bit I like is watching peoples faces when you give them their presents. Christmas day seems just such a let down after all the hype, which now starts from September! It's only really fun if you have kids. -
How Much for a window cleaner?
thomsongirl replied to MorkandMindy's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
£2.70 in Hillsborough? That's really good. My window cleaner told me it was risting to £4.70 and he would be cleaning every 2 weeks in the summer and once a month in the winter. I told him I no longer required his services. My windows are filthy and I really would like a window cleaner, but I'm not paying that amount of money for some of my windows to be cleaned (he doesn't clean them all). -
Hmm, they don't give a refund?? My Mom has been without the TV since 6pm yesterday. She reported it when it went down and nobody has been to fix it. Today she phoned them again at 5:50pm and was told that he has been paged about it but finishes at 6:30pm - basically saying the technician won't be around today. My Mom will hopefully be coming out tomorrow but had around £9 left on her card (topped up for the TV) so she will be kicking up a stink if she doesn't get a refund.

Sorry to hear about your Wife Tintsexpert. I hope something can be sorted so your daughter can get to speak to her Mum.

That might explain the problems my Mom's being having with hers for the last 2 days. Apparently, the TV also went at around 6pm, which my Mother wasn't happy about as she loves X Factor and had her TV card topped up specially for it. I also noticed that when she answered the phone, the TV came on. I asked if she gets charged for the TV being on when she's speaking on the phone, but she doesn't know.

Glass Bus Stops - The point being?
thomsongirl replied to hels1977's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Round Hillsborough they all seem to have been kicked in. The worst bit is that they don't clear up all the glass shards and I then have to walk on the road to make sure my dogs paws aren't cut. -
I think quite a few of the companies the newer gas/electric companies, seem to underestimate your useage and set a very small monthly DD amount on a regular basis. If I was cynical, I could come to the conclussion that it is to keep you with them as a long as possible as you will owe them quite a bit of money and won't be able to pay it back in one go and so can't change over companies. Seemed to happen to me and parents.
