  1. My nephew has worked for them for 2 years and has been promoted once. He enjoys the work doesn't mind the shifts and is paid well. If you like call centre work you should thrive. They are owned by BT.
  2. Wild garlic grows in full sun , shade and semi shade in my garden - it can be a little thug! If anyone wants any I will dig up a clump for them - not sure when the best time to do that is- probably now as it is just finishing so is "in the green" I am S11 and work from home most days.
  3. The very cold spell we had in May may have stopped the apples forming, particularly if there was a frost.
  4. Put your jobs on here and take the cheapest bid http://www.skiptrips.com/
  5. Hi know you can buy a "Beer Belt" online for around £5.99 but just after christmas I saw them in a Poundland style shop for about £1.99. Trouble is i can't remember where I saw then and I now need 16 for next Saturday (9thJune). Anyone any ideas or seen them cheaper than £5.99 anywhere?

  10. thanks. think i will risk it over the next few days
  11. So when dare you risk it? I have loads of things lining up in the Greenhouse to move into my cold frame. The things in the cold frame have been there quite long enough and I am itching to get them planted out. Next weekend I reckon, and then keep an eye on the weather forecast to jump in with fleece or newspaper if needed. What do you think?
  12. My Father did but it was called Anns Rd then!! He told me they got a mug to celebrate the day but sadly he died almost 20 years ago.
  13. Beekeeping is getting popular! http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/business/sheffield-women-answer-call-to-be-queen-bee-1-4537448
  14. Honey bees are the only bees that hibernate over the winter, the Queen bee from the colony under your carpet may have survived, but the others won't have.
  15. I just got back from the bee keeping course- it was great. We had about an hour in the "classroom" which gave some back ground into the biology of bees, , their habits etc and we looked at the insides of a hive indoors (no bees). Then we donned the suits went outside and looked at hives with bees in them. I can now tell a drone from a worker! Only one person got stung (my sister) but as it was through her marigold glove it wasn't painful. It did make her more wary though and when another bee clung onto her glove she retreated to the back of the group away from the hive . The tutor was good (Bill Cadmoor Chairman of Yorkshire Bee Keeping Society). It has inspired me to go on the 3 day course with a view to getting my own hive in the future, even though I don't like honey!
  16. If there had been the organisers would have managed to **** that issue up too.
  17. yeah, you and 2million other people?
  18. I did get some, for handball!! I also applied for Swimming tickets which is what we really wanted, but didn't get them and now can't re-apply until a week after the remaining ones go on sale. If anyone who registered for tickets and got none and no longer wants any tickets, could loan me their registration could I apply in their name? Sorry! My post is becoming as complicated as the organisers have made the whole ticket application process!!!
  19. The price of books on Amazon alters daily so something that is free one day may have a cost the next day. There is a kindle users forum which has a post where people have reviewed the free books http://www.kuforum.co.uk/kindleusersforum/thread-5384. Amazon also have a "Kindle Daily Deal" where the books are usually less than 99p they are genuine deals and do only last for 24 hours. I have a bookmark for the link and check each day to see if it is something i want to buy. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000577623
  20. Mum went in again today at 7am she went into theatre at about 1pm and everything went well with the op. Thank you for all the kind wishes. I hope others who have posted on here & their relatives who are waiting for treatment don't have too long to wait.
  21. I am travelling to Texas to be with my son and his wife at Christmas. Family and friends are planning to give me Christmas gifts for them and whilst none are that valuable (all individually probably under £40), I know I will have to declare them, so I will make sure I know what is in each present. However, when my son came over in the summer, he brought some BBQ sauce to give as a gift to someone and it had been unwrapped with a note slipped into his case, explaining it had been unwrapped by customs. Should I wrap my Christmas presents or do they undo everything to check what is in it? Is it just random or will it apply to all items they can not see? Was it just because the sauce was a liquid in a bottle?
  22. You have obviously not read fully or have not understood my firsts post or my 2nd on 25/11/11. No one wanted to be checked on every 10 minutes. My sister took the day off work to be with mum she was told no relatives allowed to wait. I am not complaining about anything you have written here. They are your words not mine.
