  1. Depends what you want and which firms "bid" on your job at the time - i got mine through them and even after ringing round the one I got through Skiptrips was about £30 cheaper
  2. Use skiptrips to get the cheapest price. They are a local company and through them you will get the best deal http://www.skiptrips.com/
  3. Thats the whole point of this thread, I want the correct scaffolder to come and take it!! If the scaffolder hasn't been paid his argument is with the builder, just like my argument is with the builder about all the rubbish he and his lads haveleft in my front garden.
  4. Ha Ha, yes they can try, but no way I would pay them anything. They can't come on my property without my permission and I could do with some scaffolding boards for some new raised beds!
  5. Its easy to post a glib reply. There are over 75 listed on yell.com posting here on SF will hopefully save me time and money. I have spoken to Steve at Grena, it is not his. Anyone know other scaffolders who use orange paint?
  6. Well the number for grena scaffolding I have found online 0114 233 8822 says incorrect number...
  7. I will call them and see. Thanks
  8. Can anyone help. We have had a new roof done recently and the Builder has now gone AWOL. I need to find out which scaffolding company he used to call them to come and take it down. There are no signs on the scaffolding although some of the poles have creamy orangey paint on them. Can anyone help?
  9. I went there for a meal 2 weeks ago had the pork steak, very nice. My OH had the pie which had plenty of meat. The staff were friendly, we would go back.
  10. I went through the same procedure as Medusa outlined and whilst I was there the whole waiting room were "entertained" by a 20ish bleached blond who was on her mobile to her Mum, swearing and shouting about the fact that they wouldn't do the tests that day as she had silicone implants and had to have a different procedure to everyone else. The receptionists weren't rude at all and I got confirmation that all was well by letter from the clinic within 10 days.
  11. My mum is now nearly 72, Can't see her going to the Nelson or Delany's on her own! She still goes over to Spain a lot so she couldn't really start a club or meeting herself as she wont be there every week. Any other suggestions 5 years on?
  12. You never watched until last night?? Oh you have missed some real treats! I have really enjoyed the last 2 weeks and have watched whenever I could. When it is all over I will give my garden some much needed attention.
  13. I slipped in Tesco & fractured mine 2 years ago - took about 6 months to not have excruciating pain but can still feel it if I sit for long periods now. https://www.pathwaythroughpain.com/ helped me immensely I did a trial for them when they were setting up their online course. I even managed a trip to visit my son in Houston last year - a 10 hour flight!
  14. I have tried a treadmill - my feet have fallen arches and over-pronate, I need to wear a special insole (orthotic device) inside my shoes to stop my feet rolling inwards when I walk or run. They are very painful, but swimming isn't.
  15. I like swimming, its a great form of exercise and keeps your weight down, but going to the local swimming baths takes at least an hour out of your day longer if I don't of use of our shared family car. I am thinking of investing in an Endless Pool and situating it in our garage. Has anyone any experience of having one installed? who did you use? or have you experience of using one?
  16. Couldn't even get in the car park at the Wheatsheaf so headed back to Sheffield and went in the Door Moor Inn. As er hadn't booked we were told we would have to wait 20 mins for a table and had to wait 10, they told us there was a 30 min wait for food but it arrived within 20 mins. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Both Brazilians chose the Traditional Roast Beef & Yorkshire pudding which they had never had before but both agreed the meal was excellent.
  17. Sarah I also look after my mums garden and hers is mainly lawn so I have to tackle that too when (if ever) it stops raining for long enough. I think a machete will be in order by then!
  18. I have been itching to get in my garden but it has been so wet and depressing I have put it off. At 7 this morning however I donned my waterproofs and got stuck in! After deadheading bedraggled flowers, feeding my tomatoes in the greenhouse, chopping back spent geraniums, tying in sweet peas and picking soft fruit, I picked two huge bunches of flowers including delphinium, roses, sunflowers, lillies, allium and alchemilla mollis. The neighbours think I am crackers out in the rain! I got soaking wet & it took me over an hour to hull & the strawberries and raspberries and arrange the flowers in 4 vases, but I now feel much better, the fridge is full of fresh fruit and the house smells wonderful! That little foray should keep me going for a few days !!
  19. I am visiting Chatsworth on Sunday with 2 Brazilian visitors and wanted to take them to lunch afterwards. I have visited the Devonshire arms before but I think it has now changed hands, has anyone been recently for a meal or can you recommend anywhere else on the route back to Sheffield?
  20. My nephew has worked for them for 2 years and has been promoted once. He enjoys the work doesn't mind the shifts and is paid well. If you like call centre work you should thrive. They are owned by BT.
  21. Wild garlic grows in full sun , shade and semi shade in my garden - it can be a little thug! If anyone wants any I will dig up a clump for them - not sure when the best time to do that is- probably now as it is just finishing so is "in the green" I am S11 and work from home most days.
  22. The very cold spell we had in May may have stopped the apples forming, particularly if there was a frost.
