Thanks for all the advice guys. We've started with the leaflets we've put 5000 out and had 2 sales from them so that's going to be an on going thing. We have started displaying a few local artists work to give the shop an extra dimension and with only word of mouth that's got us a few people through the door and resulted in a sale. We would like to do a flyer swap with a couple of similar business's, so if any one is interested get in touch. By the end of September we are looking to have a website made that in the new year could be upgraded into a on-line shop. Does anyone know if there's any decent networking groups that aren't bni's around the area as its something id like to try Once again thanks all

Thanks all, theres some good ideas there. We are planning a leaflet drop to see if that helps. If there is any one who wants to put cards in our shop and we do the same id be happy to do that (you wont get much joy from our end at present though)

We have just opened a furniture shop on Abbeydale Rd. We are selling made to measure furniture and offering furniture restoration. The problem we have is we had a flood half way through the fit out and had to start again. This decimated our budget and we have nothing left in the short term for marketing. We were hoping we would catch passing trade but this doesn't seem to be the case. Has anyone got any ideas for free or low cost marketing. All help much appreciated

Hi. The fitters from the big stores are usually ok however you can save a huge amount of cash engaging your own trades. We are specialist fitters and would be happy to give you a quote. cheers chris

5800 square foot workshop with offices and storage. secure yard with roller shutter and loads of parking. cctv and electronic shutters on all entrances just off rutland rd call for more info.

I take offence to what your saying. Just because you've had one person who just happens to be in the building trade you are making out we are all like that. I make a point of not arsing people around rain or snow if i say ill be there ill be there. I've also used other tradesmen and its a small minority who don't turn up. The thing i've found when talking to customers from the forum, is that people are quoting to do jobs that are way beyond them and when it comes down to it they don't turn up as they know they they'll balls it up.
