  1. I walked up Kent Road yesterday, almost killed me, so I've voted for that
  2. I've never actually - to my knowledge at least - met my father. I recently found my half brother via Facebook, but have so far been unsuccesful in finding my dad. Sorry that this is a little sketchy, but I really know next to nothing. His names Peter Cooper, he's around 44 now. Lived on Hyde Park in the 80s. I believe his mums name is Edna, and he has a brother or half brother called Anthony, and a sister named Paula. My mums name is Trish if anyone might remember her, she was only 17 when I was born, in 1985. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  3. If we are talking private hire taxis here (the type that have to be booked, rather than the Hackney Carriages) am I right in thinking that they shouldn't be plying for trade ANYWHERE? I have seen a few Rotherham ones parked around the bus and train stations lately. Didn't take note of the name of the firm, just the 01709 number...
  4. So, if I booked a taxi for an airport run to take me to Heathrow, on a return trip, would that mean the driver is not officially allowed to pick me back up?
  5. Theres terrible signal on orange in the whole of the s13 area Its always been that way, yet all my family who live here insist on using orange, silly fools!
  6. I would agree with Taybarns. Can be slightly pricey (think the max price is like £9 each in the evening) depending what time you go, but it's nice. And the range of food is amazing, they have everything, chinese, indian, fish and chips, chicken, pizza, pasta... All on an all you can eat buffet, with no time limit, and free drink refills. Just off junction 35a of the M1, tankersley manor. Dont know if they are open today though!
  7. No no, I was taken over by aliens at that time last night. It was not me speaking at all. I have no memory of the hours between 10pm and 2am.
  8. I didnt start this! What on Earth do you mean???
  9. I think the cheaper ones mayb just be what the aliens use to invade us. Indeed. I never said space ship by the way UFO = A flying object that (to me) was unidentified
  10. But I just found 10 for £11, maybe they're not as good!
  11. Apparently, you get them 3 for £10 on ebay
  12. They think the main entrance and £3 car park are closed anyway
  13. Currys is opening? They even had limited christmas eve opening hours, so I wouldnt think they would open today. Good to see even a few things bothering to open up
  14. I stand correct, it was 2005, 2008 and 2007 xmas I worked in Meadowhall, and M&S and House of Fraser were open on new years day. Unsure about Debenhams, but I know the other two were. In 2005 it was just M&S. Its highly possible that they did that little business on the day that they have just decided not to bother anymore.
  15. Happy new year to you too. I don't think they are open. I know in the previous few years, the larger shops inside meadowhall, like M&S and House of Fraser have been open, but as far as I know, thats all
  16. There are several small entrances all around the park. Theres one up at the end of, I think its School Road? at Beighton, and one just somewhere to the left of Nethergreen WMC in Kilamarsh, these are 2 that I certainly know exist. Howvere, you would have to park on a road nearby.
  17. One did go behind a cloud, my partner said he could still see it moving, without lights, behind the cloud. Suppose the light in a lantern could just be 'dimmed' when behind a cloud. Was weird how it disappeared suddenly as soon as he put his camera towards it though lol
  18. Are chinese lanterns not carried by the wind? The clouds were certainly moving in the opposite direction
  19. Watching Youtube vids, they go slowly up, and kind of drift along... These move like a plane or a helicopter. Straight, horizontal, as if they have 'a sense of direction' They do look exactly like the police helicopter, but with orange and red lights, instead of blue and red, and they are silent. maybe they are chinese lanterns, but bloody weird behaving lanterns if you ask me
  20. Just saw one. Really can't imagine a chinese lantern travelling at such speed in such a staright line, in this weather, its very windy here
  21. It's a big conspiracy lol... They want you to THINK they're chinese lanterns!
  22. It was moving steadily when I saw it, but certainly in a straight line, and the smaller piece that came away also went in a straight line, at a right angle to the larger one. He got the camera out, it went behind a cloud, and the lights went off, I couldn't see, as my eyes aren't perfect, but my partner says he saw it behind a thin cloud, without lights, but still moving. Then he saw it above stradbroke school for a split second 30 secs later, then HOVERING over asda about 2 mins after that. I can't be sure, but I doubt if lanterns hover.
  23. Stuck in with the kids, partners a doorman, so he's at work, good times!
