Recommend a Good Cake Maker MEGAThread
jon1867 replied to charmed7's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Hi, I need a cake by this Sunday (14th May), that looks something similar to this, but with different text. See link: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1654/3617/products/cat2-2.jpg?v=1490100882 Please can any cake decorators let me know if they can do this and give me a quote. Thank you hugely in advance https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1654/3617/products/cat2-2.jpg?v=1490100882 -
Doing this from the inside might dry it out, but it needs looking at. It looks to me as though the sealant has come away from the edge.

Hi, Thanks for the replies. I did hook it up correctly. Red to red and black to metal as per the guide. It just didn't seem to make much difference. I might try having another go but thought it might just be easier to get someone out considering I don't know much about it and need the headlight doing anyway.

Hi all, I have a MK6 fiesta (55 plate) that has been sat on my drive for about 4/5 weeks. I am looking to sell it. I decided to take it for a quick drive earlier to keep things ticking over. Drove it for about 10 minutes and everything seemed fine. When I got back though I noticed there was condensation in the drivers side headlight. This isn't clearing up as it should and was mentioned at the last service in Nov. I wondered if leaving the headlights on for 5 minutes would dry it out (I had the engine off). It didn't and now the engine won't start. I'm pretty certain I've drained the battery too low to start the engine. I tried jump starting it but it didn't work (however, I've never done this before and just followed an Internet guide so I might not have done it right.) Anyway, what I need is someone who can come out to me (based at Gleadless), get my engine started and then fix the problem with the condensation (at a garage or whatever). The video here shows me trying to start the car and the condensation on the headlight: If anyone can help here I'd greatly appreciate it and a rough quote of how much it will cost. Many thanks Jon

Just to say a big thank you to Horizon, and in particular my instructor Sandra, for successfully getting me through my driving test the other day. Having never got behind the wheel of a car before (just 8 months ago), I was naturally a bit aprenhensive but I found Sandra to be excellent throughout with her friendly, laidback manner. Not to mention her first-class tuition, there were a few points that I got stuck on and couldn't work out why, but Sandra identified the problem and came up with some tailor made lessons to help me through the sticking points and make me into a much more confident driver. For anyone considering starting driving lessons, take the plunge and give Horizon a call, I cannot reccommend them higher. Jonathan D

To be fair The Star aren't making it up! The journalist who writes the story isn't usually the one who chooses the headlines. The story is about a man smashing a paving slab in two on someones head. The problem here though is that the first line can be misinterpreted: "A THUG brought a concrete paving stone smashing down on a vulnerable man's head so forcefully it shattered in two.." The original poster misinterpreted this to mean the man's head was smashed in two, rather than the paving stone. So did the editor - who then wrote the headline from it. The first line should read: "A THUG shattered a concrete paving stone in two after bringing it down so forcefully on a vulnerbale man's head.." Don't get me wrong - it is a poor mistake and shouldn't happen. But just thought I'd put things into perspective with some of the unfair comments made on this thread!

Anybody work, or know anybody who does, for Sheffield Parties? What are they like to work for? What kind of things do they do? Cheers

Good point. Yes there are, but I need to store my stuff in the city centre preferably (where the gym is), so that I don't have to cart it up to Sheffield Uni repeatedly lol. Maybe I could ask the gym staff if they'll let me store my stuff there whilst at uni, although there are signs saying I shouldn't do. Thanks anyway

Hi there, Just wondering if there's any lockers in the centre of sheffield where I would be able to store my gym stuff whilst at university. Preferably free ones lol. Thanks in advance.
