  5. Thanks, yes it did look industrial, down to a red brick level that looked like an old floor but some people were clearing very small areas with small pallet knife instruments and brushes more akin to when a skeleton is found. Looked interesting though.
  6. Walked past some cleared building land at the back of Decathlon today. Looked like there was an archaeological dig happening. Does anyone know if this is the case and what are they finding or looking for? Thanks
  7. Hi, my 22 year old daughter has an 8 week old baby. She lives between Hillsborough and Stannington area. Does any one know of a new mums group in this area that she can walk to? She has said that she is feeling quite lonely at the moment so just trying to help. She does struggle to make new friends and can get anxious. Thanks you

  10. Most heroin addicts that I've spoken to say that the 'rattle' from Methadone is worse than from the drug itself. I've worked in this field for a number of years (over 12) and can count on one hand the people i know who have successfully beaten it. Brilliant for Apelike. Nice one
  11. Hi does anyone use the Shared Lives Scheme? I'm particularly interested what Sheffield City Council have done for you with regards to assessment or support for Carers within the Shared Lives Scheme. Any help would be great. Thank you

  13. Anyone know why Toby Foster has not been on radio Sheffield for the last couple of weeks?
  14. I have just taken over an allotment and there are 2 rows of raspberry canes. They look quite thin and straggly about 3 foot tall. Not sure what variety or summer/autumn raspberries. What would be the best to do with these with regards to pruning? do i cut right back to floor of only so much off? and when ideal time to prune? Any advice gratefully received
  15. Thank you both. I work for a housing charity in Doncaster and working in this field is notoriously fickle for suddenly having its funding pulled. Hay ho one door closes ect ect
  16. First day back at work after the holidays. First email i open says all staff have been notified of possible redundancy. Staff being cut back by more than half. Happy New Year!!
  17. Hi does any one know a parrot or parakeet breeder who has any fertile eggs? I would like to hand rear a parrot or parakeet. Interested in African Grey, Amazons or Conures. Not interested in Macaws or very large parrots. Thank you
  18. I have bred and trained gun dogs for years. One of the worst things that you can do is feed a dog a dried food which contains too much protein content, especially if the dog has a sedentary lifestyle. Although it is quite expensive i feed all my dogs on Burns dried dog food. Mr Burns is a Scottish vet who was consistently seeing food related ill dogs attending his veterinary clinic and decided to produce his own dried food. I have met him at Crufts and was very impressed with his product. My dogs love it and as there is no bulking agent in the food there is very little waste product (dog poo) as the majority of the food is actually used by the dog. Worth a try but ensure that you wean onto Burns gradually.
  19. Tomjames, 314 posts in the month of May, mostly negative, seemingly an appearance of trying to be clever. Definitely sad keyboard warrior. We will meet one day
  20. Anything interesting happening over the Bank Holiday weekend in Sheffield? What are you doing?
  21. Hi, i am currently in full time employment and as i am coming to the end of my rugby playing days i want to fill my weekends by working. Has anyone any experience of working 2 x jobs? One Monday to Friday and one Saturday/Sunday? Would there be any tax implications? Is it worth it financially ect ect? Any help would be much appreciated.
  22. I know it may not be possible for all but i leave the apples on the ground that fall off a small tree in autumn. This encourages insects ect and this attracts Blackbirds, i also try and garden in a way that does not use pesticides ect and try and promote as much insect life, slugs and snails ect as possible which attracts Thrushes and other birds. I know what you mean about Magpies. As they are very territorial maybe a dummy Magpie on a garden post. Not sure if this would scare away or attract more though?
