Where can I get rid of old curtains and bedding?
MelAgain replied to sixer's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I'm not sure kennels take duvets because they have a terrible problem cleaning them...but they do take sheets and towels -
Steam train through Sheffield
MelAgain replied to Annie Bynnol's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Would you know if this train is then carrying on to Penistone? I'd love to see it go through Silkstone Common! -
Does anybody know of any private migraine clinics in or around Sheffield? Having suffered for over 20 years and tried a variety of drugs, I've been referred to the Headache & Migraine Clinic on Duke Street in Sheffield.....but... it took over 8 months after being referred to actually get an appointment, then I only saw the Doctor for 10 minutes. He put me on anti-epileptic drugs as a preventative and said he would see me in 3 months. I'm not sure they're working and I'm not supposed to take triptans any more either...so am just suffering. I've heard really good things and would like to try botox for migraines but I'm not sure I can stand waiting for another appointment, trying yet another tablet...etc and begging to get referred. So I am willing to pay to go private and get this sorted. If only I could find somewhere.

Tripadvisor! I organised pretty much every part of our trip up & around Malaysia earlier in the year through recommendations on Tripadvisor... Transfers, car hire, hotels, places to visit and it was fantastic. I picked the highest recommended hotels in our price range and pre-booked. We stayed in 5 hotels altogether and I can honestly say that there wasn't one thing we could grumble at. Also, I'm a bit of a worry ar*e so posted a couple of queries on there and got some great advice from people who lived there or had just come back. Have a great trip

Why....who wants to go to Rotherham? Oh yeah .. just seen the post...duh. Forget Dronfield then it's miles away from Rotherham... How about Aston? Close to both cities and open countryside
-
Dronfield is a fantastic place to live....plenty of great pubs and restaurants, a couple of shopping centres and loads of green space. Also decent schools if that's an issue. The train to Sheffield takes less than 10 mins. Personally having lived in both Dronfield and the newer estate of Dronfield Woodhouse I'd pick the older part, Dronfield..just because its closer to everything.

When would a gambler admit they're addicted? When they lost a few hundred? A few thousand?... how about when they lost their home...and family? I don't think that removing gambling tax, removing the winnings limit on fruit machines and removing the waiting period at casinos is going to help with what is becoming a growing problem.

Where do I get a copy of my baptism certificate?
MelAgain replied to MelAgain's topic in General Discussions
Thanks everybody....I've just spoken to Sheffield Archives who were very helpful. Looks like I'll be getting myself acquainted with the fiche machine at the weekend. -
Where do I get a copy of my baptism certificate?
MelAgain replied to MelAgain's topic in General Discussions
C of E The church is definitely a bank now. Would Sheffield Cathedral keep parish records? -
I'm need my certificate to prove that I was Christened nearly 40 years ago. Can I find it?? can I hell. To make matters worse I think the church where I was Christened is now a bank....or maybe a pub..... I'm not even sure what the Church was called although I do know it was in Attercliffe. Can you even get copies of baptism certificates? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Any one remember ABC pictures in town
MelAgain replied to sausagehead2's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
Yeah I remember the horror of my mum trying to get me to go on stage because it was my Birthday (I was quite a clingy 5 year old!) Didn't it burn down? -
