  1. How often did you use it? Do you know how long should I leave between using it and using their normal flea treatment?
  2. Bought some Johnson's Fly Strike Protector today as when I got home from work there were a lot of flies around the rabbits' litter tray, even though I change it daily. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how often I should use it? I'm still socialising the rabbits, (they're resuces,) and don't want to put them off me forever by spritzing them day and night! Anyone got any other ideas for protecting against fly strike? I lost a rabbit to it when I was younger and it was awful. We didn't know what it was at the time and so spent an entire night combing the rabbit fur and looking after him, but it wasn't enough obviously. Thanks!
  3. https://www.facebook.com/#!/DPMfurniture - They have a shop in South Anston. 01909561320/ 07976827318 - Just pop in or call them for a quote.
  4. Harthill Village Hall - £7.50 per hour or there may be a discount on a full day - you'd have to ask. I think they have a facebook page. Kitchen, bar and additional room to the main hall with a stage.
  5. Genuine thanks for the helpful comments! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought some points made were irrelevant and a tad condescending.
  6. No I explained that I had submitted the documents to them in pristine condition and I expected them to return them in the same manner. All it would have taken was a hard backed envelope! I can't take them to any future employers as it looks like I've just scrunched it up and therefore don't give a monkey's! I have told them it will cost me the £35 to replace them.
  7. Hello. I recently registered with one of the agencies in Sheffield and was asked to send in some documents, including my degree certificate. This could either be done by post or in person. As I am currently working full time I sent them by post - sending everything by special delivery post in a hard backed envelope. However the company have returned my degree certificate in a normal envelope which has meant that is now badly damaged. I emailed the company and they have said that although they normally send official documents back in hard-back envelopes, on this occasion they did not. Am I left without a leg to stand on or can I claim against them someway for the £35 it will now cost me to replace the certificate? CONSTRUCTIVE ADVICE ONLY PLEASE - I am aware that some people will want to post abuse and/or irrelevant messages but I already feel a ‘numpty’ so there's no need really. Thanks
  8. Harthill (S26, near Woodhall services,) has a lovely reservoir with three ponds. Each one has a fairly easy path and you could just walk around the one or do all three if you’re feeling engergetic. We used to do it all the time as kids. Then you can finish off with lunch at the Beehive pub or I think the Bluebell pub might do food too. The first one allows children as long as they are eating and there’s lots of parking at both. Parking is available at the reservoir too. There’s also a great children’s play park just before the ponds which might give you something else to do with the little un. Hope that helps. Buses run from Sheffield and Rotherham close to the pubs and ponds.

  10. I also have a resuce Maine Coon - welcome to the club! I do let mine out but he never stays out for long. He's chipped and also spayed, so the threat of someone taking him is minimal for breeding purposes. Plus, you would certainly know if you'd got mine! He cries constantly if I'm away from him for more than 24 hours. My ex-house mate had him once when we went away for a week and funnily enough she moved out soon after that! I find they are very attached cats so if anyone took him I think they'd be bringing him back pretty soon after! I did have a collar on him but he took it off constantly so gave up. I do have an indoor litter tray for him as he doesn't like going outside to do his business - don't know if you'll find the same. He's not keen on getting his lovely coat dirty. Be prepared for lots of little tumblewheels of fur around the house and congrats on your new arrival!
  11. We started teaching the children in our school choir a musical which had been languishing in the back of the store cupboard for many years. However, halfway through we have now realised that some of the pages are in fact missing! It's The Emperor's New Clothes by Ruth Norman and Hardy Wieder (1959) and is totally out of print it would appear. Anyone know, by any chance, if there is anywhere in the world which might stock a copy still? Thank you in advance for your ideas!
  12. Thank you for your replies. Hopefully I'll get around to getting into town this weekend then to have look.
  13. Hi. I am looking for a Wii console and Wii Fit and have been told that the best deals to be had are the nearly new or second hand ones. However I am dubious about buying second hand incase it breaks quickly or something. Anyone got anywhere they could recommend? I know there are several game shops in Sheffield but don't know the names of them to search online. It doesn't have to be boxed or anything. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for letting me know Jozafeen. Looks like it's a regular thing then. Does anyone want the litter tray then? Any of the rescues?
  15. Hi all. Just wanted your opinions on a very well-known online company I've recently bought from who were advertising goods from Pet Central. Has anyone else ordered from them? I ordered a new xl hooded cat litter tray which was advertised as solid and black and white. Then the other day a transparent pink one arrived! I have tried to contact the company but haven't heard anything back. There is feedback on the site which says that they've done the same to other people and not got back to them either. I've checked the listing to see if I got it wrong but no, it was certainly a 'solid white top with black/red or blue base'. Any of those would have been fine! My house is very small and the only place for the litter tray is in the kitchen. I don't like the idea of having it in there so guests can see, erm, everything! Plus it's bright blumming pink! Anyone want it if they don't get back to me?! Thanks in advance.
  16. I imagine many people will think this is awful and tacky, (in which case I hope it is able to raise even a little smile to your face at this terrible time,) but it's an alternative idea for dealing with your pet's ashes - If something (God please forbid,) ever happened to our George then he's already been told he's going to be a beautiful diamond so Mummy can carry him everywhere. (He wasn't impressed as there wasn't any food in it for him.) Basically there are various companies that can take your pet's ashes and turn them into diamonds or similar. This is the one I've seen: http://www.irrcorp.net/secondary/LocationUK.aspx Then you can keep him with you whenever you want. But aside from that - if you would like someone to go for you, or just to go with you to fetch Tank then pm me and I'd be glad to help. I cried buckets when I read the thread, especially having rehomed on here myself. Best wishes.
  17. Hi. I am looking for a CyberBike for the Wii as the one I've ordered online weeks ago still hasn't arrived! Argos are the only place I've seen it but they only will deliver it, after Christmas. I'd rather have two if the other one does finally turn up tomorrow instead of disappointed children! Thanks for any helpful advice.
  18. Having rescued two rabbits last year we bought this cage: http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/rabbit_hutches/outback_hutches/95233 However it turned out that they were going to grow a lot more once they started being fed properly so we've had to buy a bigger cage! The new cage is here so I'm selling this one for £35 ono. It's a little nibbled in the usual places but perfect for a new home for a bun or two. We were planning to build them a run for the winter as they usually spent a lot of time out of the cage in the summer, so we have lots and lots of wood and chicken wire too. If you would like that I'll throw it in for just £15. The wood cost us £35 alone. Please call 07708741399. Thanks, Jess
  19. I managed to convince the oh last year to let me foster a dog over Christmas (in the hope he'd agree to having one of our own full time!) but he was coming from the Manchester kennels and with the bad weather it all got cancelled. However I'd really like to try again on him-indoors! What kind of dog is it, how big is it, is she okay with cats? Let me know and we might be able to sort something as we're only down the road from you.
  20. Just wanted to add my thanks too to Magsie and Midgecat as Poppy came home with us yesterday. Thank you for helping us find the right cat for my Grandparents. I will, as promised, put up a full story once Poppy's brave enough to have photos taken in her new home, but right now she is settling in really nicely. I went up this morning and tried to coax her to come and see me but she wasn't having any of it, but the second my back was turned she was out from under the table, rubbing herself around my Grandma's legs! I think she may have made a friend there! We did have a bit of a panic however at lunchtime as my Grandma couldn't find Poppy and rang me frantically saying she was missing and that she'd pulled all the furniture out and been standing at the windows worrying she'd got out somehow and was freezing to death out in the snow. So, I ran round (we live a few doors down,) and after a quick scout Poppy was quickly discovered! All we had to do was think like a cat - Of course she had found the warmest place in the house next to the central heating pipes behind a piece of furniture which is placed at an angle against the wall. She looked so happy and warm when I left! Thanks again to everyone who helped and more info to follow soon.
  21. Thanks for this. In reply to the water point - yes I found an elderly pair of thermal socks out last year and so one of them is now on the water bottle, doing the job of an expensive cover very well!
