  1. Hi I’m a fairly experienced guitarist based in Sheffield city centre. My background is playing quite heavy riff based music but I’ve recently been trying to get into bluegrass and would love to get some practice jamming some standards. I think I’m fairly proficient at basics and want to improve my fiddle style flatpicking and build up my confidence in improvising. Up for just jamming with a beer or two but have experience in bands so could be up for gigging with the right people. Anybody want to start up or know of any existing groups who are playing this sort of thing? Even any teachers who specialise in this style?
  2. Got to be Viper Rooms. Great selection of Champagnes and Spirits sold by the bottle. They have waitresses for table service in VIP too and Saturday nights are always buzzing. You can book a table and pay in advance but I think saturdays normally get booked up pretty quick so i'd book sooner rather than later.
  3. There is no better way to learn guitar than to play with someone else and learn music that you both enjoy. I am looking for enthusiastic beginners and intermediates who want to have fun playing and hopefully improve their skills. I have a good grounding in basic music theory (I was classically trained in trombone and have taken some piano lessons) but will not be looking to work towards any official gradings. My aim when playing on my own or in a band is to have fun and hopefully entertain those who are listening. I have been playing for nearly ten years and consider myself to be a well rounded, skillful guitarist. I was tutored for four years during high school by a professional electric guitarist and specialize in modern rock guitar. I am however interested in all forms of music and can play a wide variety of styles including acoustic and classical. I also have experience playing as part of a band as well as writing songs and recording guitar music. My lessons will be only £10 p/h as I am new to private teaching. I offer an introductory lesson for free so you can make up your mind before spending any money. I can travel in and around the city centre and am happy to host lessons myself. My number is 07725751203 and my email is domcritch@hotmail.com
