PC Problem No display, how to check problem ?
terrorfirma replied to red1's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
Do you get a power light on the monitor? I presume it's a LCD monitor? If it is LCD, do you have an external transformer? What happens when you switch the tower on? -
I've tried it, doesn't want to work for me

I was watching a programme on BBC yesterday lunchtime and I had the normal black bars top and bottom. Then the top and bottom bars were replaced by bars down each side, only for a minute or so. It must be something to do with the broadcasters having a fiddle about. The picture did not appear stretched, just 'cropped' to a different ratio.

Unable to see all the info on an Excel document !

If you are using excel 2010 the options are found at file>options. To display the scroll bar you want file>options>advanced about half way down under display options for this workbook, there is a check box for 'show horizontal scroll bar'. Is that what you are looking for? -
Netbooks with the AMD Fusion chip seem to offer decent performance and extended battery life, but I haven't had a chance to look at one yet.

Ive just looked at this phone on the 'net and it says it comes with a 1gb microSD card. You are not trying to use a microSDHC card by any chance? the two types are not compatible. MicroSD are 2gb or less MicroSDHC are 4gb or more.
-
Have you tried formatting the card on a pc first?

What chipset is your onboard graphics? Would that have effect?

It's a scam. You will find loads coming through on yahoo accounts. I get about 3 or 4 a week, usually telling me my online banking privileges have been suspended and click the link to confirm my account... blah blah, you get the idea. If you hover your mouse pointer over the link, I can guarantee the target is some obscure '.com' in a far-off land. They all look quite legit, with the official-looking letterheads. In the last two weeks I've had them from santander, abbey, barclays, halifax and paypal.

Try and limit your time on angry birds, it's addictive:P -
If you work on 6Kg as a rough guide then you won't be far out. If you are posting, 50g either way can take into the next price bracket. If you are buying on ebay and are trying to work out if you are being ripped off with the postage, you probably are as 90% of people you buy from will rip you off with the postage.

I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem. Only problems I've encountered before are cases when two people are using the same serial number at the same time.

My graphics card doesn't support aero either. I'm using a radeon x1900 xtx 512mb pci-e in one pc, it doesn't support aero and an older radeon agp card in my file server and it does support aero

Had a quick flick through the manual and all i can see is the option to either use auto(pci-e or on-board) or both. Have you tried both settings?

What is the model number of the mobo?

Is there anything in the bios about pci-e settings? did you disable onboard graphics? is one pci and the other pci-e?
