  1. I don't know if you've checked already, but just make sure the card will fit in your case before ordering it. Sometimes the length of the card can be an issue. I've only managed to find one photo of the inside of your case and it seems the card fouling the hard drive cage may prove to be a problem. It is hard to tell from just a picture though.
  2. I seem to remember reading something like this on one of the nvidia forums. If I remember rightly, they solved their problem by spreading the power for the graphics card over two 12v rails. So check your 12v rails have enough amps, I think 30-35A should be ample. Better quality PSUs have a single 12v rail with high amps. I have a Corsair HX750 with a single 62A 12v rail.
  3. I too have been with sky for quite a while. The old routers are pretty poor though. The new 'N' routers are far better. My speeds are quite slow though, I'm about 1 1/2 miles from the exchange though, can't wait for fibre optic.
  4. The nVidia cards are noticeably quieter than the ATI ones. That's why I'm opting for a 560ti or a 570. Might be a 560ti plus a second SSD though, don't know yet.
  5. Just a couple to think about http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-sapphire-hd-6570-1600mhz-gddr3-gpu-650mhz-480-stream-processors-d-sub-dl-dvi-i-hdmi and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zotac-Fanless-Nvidia-GeForce-GT520-1GB-GDDR3-ZONE-Edition-Graphics-Video-Card-/130654308692?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item1e6b9a8954
  6. It may be possible to get an upgrade bundle. Mobo, CPU, ram and heatsink, but if your going to that expense you might as well have a new case anyway. Again, it comes down to what the pc is to be used for, but if the op wants to take advantage of new technology, I.e. SATA 3, DDR 3 etc, then probably a new pc is the way to go. Personally, I prefer to build my own, that way I get what I want and I can buy my hardware as I can afford it.
  7. Genuine or non-genuine, it just happens. It is only down to the contact between the chip on the cartridge and the printer. I changed my cartridges last night. All accepted straight away, no problem. The time before it took me about 6 goes to get them all working. It's just luck whether they all work straight away or not. These are the one I use, never had a problem with quality http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18-INK-CARTRIDGES-EPSON-R265-R285-R360-RX560-RX685-/300463715747?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_Printing_PrinterInkCatridges_JN&hash=item45f50875a3#ht_1951wt_1270
  8. I print a lot of greeting cards for my wife and the ink quality is more that adequate for that. At about £6 for a set of 6 (R285) it's worth a try
  9. Nice one! All depends on what your printing, but I find cheap ones off eBay are good enough for what I need. They're not really good enough for photos but are adequate for everyday printing on plain paper. With printer ink being one of the most expensive liquids on the planet you have to save money where you can
  10. Have you had any recent updates on the phone. Check what type of connection is being made between phone and laptop. My desire HD gives me several options i.e. internet pass-through, disk drive, sync pc etc.
  11. You have to make sure the contacts on the cartridges are totally clean. I use cheap ink in my epson and have the same trouble now and then. I use a fibre glass pen on the contacts and that usually does the trick. Just keep trying, you'll get it to work eventually.
  12. Hi all, I'm having trouble uploading photo's from my android phone to facebook using wi-fi. I've just swapped my sky router for a netgear DGN 1000. I can surf the net, download and all the usual stuff I just can't seem to be able to upload photo's to facebook using wi-fi. In all likelihood it's something to do with security settings on the router, seeing as I didn't have this problem before I got the new router, but I just can't seem to find it. I'm hoping a fresh approach from someone else might give me an idea I haven't tried. All help is appreciated.
  13. Does anyone know anywhere local to crystal peaks that sells 800mb or 90 min CD's?
  14. Have a look at the programs on your pc and uninstall the ones you don't really need. If you really can't get rid of any programs, you could always fit a larger hard disk. Having so little free space on your hard disk will really drag the performance of you pc down as your operating system uses your hard disk as extra RAM or virtual memory. Hard drives are really expensive at the moment though.
  15. Sounds like its time to delete some crap young man
  16. I honestly can't see things progressing much beyond FLAC. As has already been said, very few people possess the audio equipment of sufficient quality to hear much difference between a 96 kbps mp3 and FLAC, as most audio seems to be listened to on ipods, smart phones and ICE. I don't know many people who actually take the time to sit and listen to music any more. People seem to 'listen' to music while doing other thing nowadays.
  17. Holding ctrl and pressing 0 (zero) restores everything to normal size too
  18. What does your pc say when you try to read it with your card reader?
  19. There's also some good help on the Adobe website http://www.adobe.com/support/photoshop/gettingstarted/index.html
  20. There's also a dock bar called rocket dock. http://rocketdock.com/
  21. I honestly can't imagine you would need a 1200w psu in your rig, even with the watercooling and the overclock your running. Try the corsair psu calculator and see what that says, i've always found it quite reliable. What psu are you using at the moment? brand and wattage? It sounds as though you could be overloading the 12v rail. Most new power supplies use a single 12v rail that can handle huge amps, 50-80a. Check the psu your using and see what it's amps are on the 12v rail.
  22. If I had, it would be in my new build . Nice try though. Have you tried going to the Corsair website and using their power supply calculator?
  23. I've got some thermal compound and a 120mm fan you can have if you want them. The fan is 37mm thick though.
  24. I would have thought taking the pc to bits would be a last resort, wouldn't you?
  25. I have copied this from a post on the nVidia forum if it helps.. "Going back to the 275.33 drivers resolves this issue and then the system is back to 100% stability". I hope this is clear enough.
