  1. The Church of England claims its order to be a valid Catholic order. However the Roman Catholic Church denies its validity (Apostolicae Curae, 1896) whilst the Roman Catholic Church acknowledges the validity of the Old Catholic Church of Utrecht, Oriental Catholic Church, the Armenian Apostolic Church as well as other churches of Eastern rite etc.. If a Roman Catholic priest wishes to become a priest within the Church of England, the Church of England does not ordain him as a priest because the Church of England recognises his priestly ordination which he had already received from a Roman Catholic bishop as a valid Catholic order. However, a Protestant minister wishes to become a priest within the Church of England, s/he must be confirmed by an Anglican bishop and must be ordained according to the rite of the Church of England. Likewise a Roman Catholic person who was already confirmed by a Roman Catholic bishop wishes to join the Church of England, s/he does not have to be confirmed by an Anglican bishop. However, s/he must officially declare that the Order of the Church of England as a valid Catholic order. In the Church of England the sacrament is reserved in all forty-four cathedrals as the consecrated bread and wine are regarded as the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Communion of saints is a belief officially supported by the Church of England as such feasts as Annunciation, Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary, Saints Peter and Paul etc. are commemorated within their calendar. In addition to above, it is strictly forbidden by the Roman Catholic Church to worship Blessed Virgin Mary. She is only to be admired. Act of Settlement excludes people who are in the line of succession who contracted marriage with Roman Catholics from the line of succession. However, this act does not mention about Old Catholics, the members of the Armenian Apostolic Church, of churches of Eastern rite (Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna, Princes Marina and Prince Philip) etc. the orders of which are acknowledged as valid Catholic order by the Roman Catholic Church. Technically the members of the Royal Family are allowed to marry Hindus, Buddhists et al but not Roman Catholics. Officially the Church of England claims to possess Apostolic Succession as much as the Old Catholic Church of Utrecht does. Again, the Roman Catholic Church does not accept this claim by the Church of England whilst the Roman Catholic Church accepts that the Old Catholic Church of Utrecht's Apostolic Succession. Interestingly, the Anglican Church in Japan calls itself the Holy Catholic Church of Japan. In other words, the Church of England officially claims that it is one of the Catholic Churches such as the Roman Catholic Church, the Old Catholic Church, Ukrainian Catholic Church, Armenian Apostolic Church, the churches of Easter rite etc. but the Roman Catholic Church does not accept her claim and regards it as a Protestant denomination although in past the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople made a statement in which he acknowledged the validity of Anglican Order.
  2. I had my coffee with lovely home made cake, I think it was called something like three milk cake, there the other day. I think the owner is Spanish or South American and was very nice. His staff are nice and pleasant, too.
  3. Welcome to Sheffield. Cafe Rouge has some children's menus & colourings to do. Sakushi is quite entertaining for little diners, too, because of its conveyer belt sushi etc. Pizza Express on Devonshire Street has children's menu, too. All Bar One's food is good but they are not licensed to allow children under the age of 14. R.S.V.P. allows children in. Nando on West Street also has children's menu.
  4. Here's his website. http://www.therealmckee.co.uk/
  5. I like WAGAMAMA's & Yo, Sushi's curry dishes.
  6. I went to Dim Sum - lovely food but the service was awful but still asked if I wanted to give something for the service. A Chinese friend of mine tells me that an upstairs restaurant on Matilda Street is good.
  7. I like WAGAMAMA & Platillos. Oh, I like the Leopold Hotel's beef burger, too. It's lovely with a cold beer or a glass of wine.
  8. How about going to the Lyceum for a play or a musical ? Ice skating and cinema ? Ski Village as well.
  9. Now I've found out that the new Ruskin Bar will be re-opened as 'Crucible Corner' as part of the Crucible Theatre, open through the day for drinks and lunches and pre-theatre dinners.
  10. I went to Silversmith a few time whilst this cook was working as the Chef de Cuisine & whatever I had were superb in quality and were alos beautifully presneted in a rustic and provincial way (rather than a fine dining sort of the Ivy, Nobu, the Connaught in London etc or the Old Vicarage in Sheffield & the Fischer's @ the Baslow Hall etc). A few friends of mine who are accustomed to the standard of Nobu, the SAVOY etc went back post the departure of this Richie but their feedback was "no change" and their dining was as pleasant as before. So, I must re-visit this Silversmith and see what I think of it. I understand that their previous Chef de Cuisine (Richie as he is called here) was not a formally trained cook but a self-taught one. Some people have such innate talent, do they not ? Whatever he produced was very good indeed. Some people are discussing the difference between the term a 'chef' & a 'cook' but I understand all the cooking staff are cooks and only the head of the cooking team is called Chef as in "head" in French (like le Duc d'Anjou, Chef de la Masion de Bourbon - the Duke of Anjou, the Head of the House of Bourbon) and s/he has his comi et al below him/her rank.
  11. I hear that this place is going to be a part of the Crucible Theatre and will be re-opened as its bar or something.
  12. I wonder what the food is like now ? Please give me your review.
