Doesn't matter. Just been and chaos still reigns.

Is the Peaks bus station back to normal? Can't find an update on the transport web page.

Just attempted to leave home and the pavement is lethal. This new asphelt is far too smooth. Think there's going to be a lot more accidents in Sheffield since the roads and pavements have been re-surfaced.

Thanks everyone. Solved.

I used to be able to do this but have completely forgotten how. I made the DVD I have in the first place. Old age and Windows 10 have caught up with me. I wondered if there was a shop somewhere in Sheffield I could have it done as I've spent most of today messing about with various programmes and downloads. All of which I have now binned, and I can't find the original Nero disc which I think is what I used to use.

Does anyone know of a Doll repairer anywhere near Sheffield?

Thanks for the replies. I'll give them all a try, especially on High Street.

Where in the city can I buy an official Sony PS2 controller?

Thanks for the replies. Not being from Yorkshire myself I presumed it was a person.

There are a few roads in Sheffield named after Harvey Clough. Does anyone know who he was? I've tried Googling but haven't managed to find out anything.

What are Stagecoach playing at?
Yorkiescot replied to Yorkiescot's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Been along White Lane today and the temporary bus stop at the tram stop going to Gleadless has gone. The one over the road at the tram stop going to Halfway is still there. Its not on the list, but buses are stopping there. Looks like someone doesn't know what they're doing. This was used as a temporary bus stop in the past. -

There are definitely bus stops at the White Lane tram stops today, and they are placed in such a way that they are clearly visible. They weren't there last week as that part of White Lane was closed off on one side, with traffic lights controlling traffic on the other side. The old couple were quite upset and didn't think to ask the driver for his number. -
The trams are not running from Gleadless Townend to Crystal Peaks due to work on the tram lines, so buses are being laid on. On White Lane there is a bus stop on the tram platforms on both sides of the road, then there is another temporary stop near to what was The Old Harrow (now an Indian restaurant) on White Lane which goes to Crystal Peaks, then another bus stop on Fox Lane which goes to Gleadless Townend. So in effect there are two extra stops. This morning on the bus going to Townend, an elderly couple and a young woman rang the bell to get off the bus at what is the actual tramstop on White Lane but the driver refused to stop, even though there is a temporary bus stop sign in plain view. He insisted on taking them all the way to Townend, where they had to get on another bus which brought them back and let them off at the tramstop on White Lane. The elderly couple were very upset, as it caused them to miss a doctor's appointment. Another lady said that in the morning, the same thing had happened to her schoolgirl daughter. What is the point of having temporary bus stops for tram users if the bus drivers are refusing to stop at them?

Thanks to everyone for you help. I've now got the VCR up and running. I did the daisy chain thing and it works. Thanks again.
-
First thing I did was make sure that the VCR worked on its own with the TV, and it was fine. Haven't tried plugging the DVD player into the VCR. Originally used a single SCART lead, so I'm wondering if its the 2 into 1 SCART cable that's the problem, although the DVD player is working fine with it.
-
I have an oldish TV. Just connected Youview box with no problems. Also connected my DVD player via a SCART cable, and this is fine as well. As I have a lot of VHS tapes (mainly Disney) which I begrudge throwing away, I decided to connect the VHS player as well. I connected the DVD player with a SCART cable going from DVD player to TV, and as I said, no problems. I thought it would be the same for the VHS player, so I bought one of those SCART cables with 2 connections. Attached this to TV and then to DVD player and to the VHS player. The DVD player is fine, but cannot get anything from the VHS player. I've tried everything. Made sure that only one is switched on at a time. Even tried switching them both on at the same time, but no luck. Anyone got any idea where I've gone wrong, or the right way to do it?

Thanks for that. I've downloaded the drivers, and have tried using the scanner, but it hasn't worked.
