  2. I used to put my unwanted items in the bags that came through my letter box, then I saw an article about people using this as a scam to collect things and then sell them for themselves on market stalls or car boot sale,I now take my unwanted items to the charity shop myself or I recycle them on sheffield freecycle

  6. Becarful if you hire a black cab I use them travelling around the city and some of them are really scruffy, wouldnt want you to turn up at your wedding with gung on the bottom of your dress,I know a lot of taxi drivers and the best thing to do is order it in advance and tell them what its for, hopefully you will get a clean one
  7. I took my 3 grandchildren to scarborough for day, they wanted to go to the sealife centre, what a rip off it cost me £60.00 that was for a family ticket(only 4 people on this )and a single ticket,we then went to peashome park and they wanted to go on the boats,They werent allowed to go in on there own even though the oldest was 14 so my husband went with them, that cost £2.70 each, after they they wanted to play golf ,another £1.70 each. They then decided they were hungry so we went to a chip shop were the bill came to £20.00.Over £100.00 for a day out no wonder people dont go away so much we wont be going back there in a hurry, think Iwill stick to going abroad It works out cheaper if you go all inclusive with kids, whats happened to the half price vouchers we used to get for swimming, skating ect

  11. I think its a good idea to ask for money or vouchers,The wedding I went to inside the invitation they had written a poem about not needing any thing for there house but would use it towards their honeymoon, the poem was really nice as it said that they would like your company at their wedding even if you couldnt give any thing it also saves the headaches of wondering round shops wondering what to get and someone else duplicating your gift
  12. Its not only car parks were people use two spaces,we have a layby outside my house were you can easily fit three cars in,but some inconsiderate people take up 2 of the spaces, this is really annoying when you have to park half way down the road especially if you have got loads of shopping and its raining.I take offence at people blaming overweight people for scratching their cars,I am overweight and I am very careful if theres not a lot of room so leave is "fatties "alone

  18. I had two people Knocking at my door at 8.40pm one night collecting for some charity or other, one of them asked if she could use the toilet and I refused as I had visions of her ransacking my bedrooms,as happened to an elderly man across the road from me previously when some one told him they were from the water board and kept him talking in the kitchen wilst someone went in the front door and robbed him. They didnt show any identification so I phoned the police and asked what time were they allowed to collect to,they came out straight away and stopped them from knocking on peoples doors ,they said they were genuine but had been told not to knock on peoples doors at night.
  19. Does anyone know Lesley Pledger/Lesley Moat I know she got remarried and lived on Owlthorpe but she moved and I lost contact,we used to knock around together ,we both worked at S R Gents on east bank road in the 70s. 21. I would just like to say I am so fed up of people wasting my time,I had 3 people bookd in over weekend for alterations to wedding dresses ect,Igave up my weekend in order for these appointments, needless to say not one of them turned up or even phoned to cancel, how rude can people be,why book in the first place,in future I will ask for a phone number maybe then I wont gey so many timewasters.
  22. I used to work in nurseries and visited fairmount as part of some training ,it was very small, the workers were very antisocial and quite a few of the kids didnt seem happy, there was a lot of crying children, when your choosing a playgroup or nurserys always ask for their Ofstead report, hat will tell you all the good points and the bad,you can usually fond them online as well.Iworked at Casle college nursery and that was very well run the kids were happy and the staff were too.Iwould recommend you dont visit at the beginning of term as all the children are new and need to settle down.
