  1. This has to be the most dangerous section of road i have ever driven on. So many cars change lanes without looking that i can guarantee a car will almost crash into me every time i drive down there. And useless lane markings make it even worse, i don't even know if i'm in the right lane. My interpretation goes as follows. At the end of Nursery Street the middle lane and the right hand lane go straight ahead, side by side onto Blonk Street. The middle lane becomes the inside lane which stays the inside lane as it does that stupid curve section and then goes off onto the parkway whereas what was teh right hand lane becomes the middle lane and round that stupid curve bit and becomes the inside lane at the traffic lights. Is this correct? I've had enough with this stupid bit of road, people come round the corners and swap lanes all over the place, they just can't seem to decide where they want to be and as a result they swerve all over and almost cause so many accidents. Is there nothing that can be done to make this section of road better?
  2. Shut Friday Open Saturday - Usual times Shut Sunday Shut Monday Back to normal Tuesday
  3. I thought the maximum file size on FAT32 was 4Gb? Anyway a degree in computing didn't teach me that Compaq machines have a recovery drive. All my important stuff is kept off the C drive, that way if anything bad happens a quick format and reinstall later and all my data isn't touched.
  4. NTFS and FAT are allocation tables. This is what windows uses to store and read data on your hard drive! NTFS is a newer version but FAT32 is still fine. As for the question do you need it, well you need NTFS or FAT of some kind. But you don't need the drive splitting into two. Useful for backing up but other than that serves no useful purpose in the ordinary home computer.
  5. I want to move into Europe. Northern Italy or Southern France. Perhaps near the swiss border.
  6. Bulldog have been great for me. Except once when i rang them and was on hold for 45 mins. No download limits, £20 for 8mb and £10 for phone. I'm happy with that price and my line has been on and in use for the last 18 months with hardly a days rest.
  7. Anybody seen a red Vauxhall Zafira, with blacked out windows and what looked like alloy wheels. Y reg? If you do just move right out of this guys way. He (i'm only guessing it's a guy) drives like a bloody idiot. No regards to other cars, the speed limit, the highway code, well any law from what i've seen. He cuts cars up, undertakes, speeds and swaps lanes every 5 secs to jump traffic and cut back in.
  8. People claim an ISP to be good when their connection works when they want it to. This is a pretty cr&p reason endorse an ISP! Just cos it works doesn't mean they are good!! Maybe you got someone helpful on the help line, still not good. This is the minimum you expect. From what i have seem of people on Tiscali the speeds are slow. You think it's connected at 2M. So? I bet they never come near it. Almost all these cheap ISPs work when you want them to. But none of them offer the speed, the download usage or support when you need it. You get what you pay for. If you browse the web for a few hours a day any old cheap ISP will do, they have blips now and again but that's cos they are over-subscribed due to cheapness.
  9. I used to have a laguna, 2.0 and the handling was made for comfort not for performance. Putting in a bigger engine is just asking to crash it when you put it into a corner that it can't handle.....
  10. I did wonder about the logic of having such terrible roads. Not going to stop me using my car tho! Crossing next to a roundabout seems to be a specialty in Sheffield. Not dangerous at all are they? Pull out, swerve around other cars blocking the lanes and then suddenly a red traffic light and you have to hit the brakes. And now the car behind you is blocking the lanes. Good plan. A few more bridges for crossings would be a good thing, but can you trust the little s**ts not to throw things onto cars?
  11. The traffic lights are the only problem with the roads in this city! There are just so many of them you can't drive anywhere and when you do get moving your stopped within 20 secs by another set of red lights. An example would be by the university tram stop, 4 sets of lights within what? 100m? Is this a world record attempt? We need a good traffic manager to go around the city and sequence traffic lights so when they are on green for one set the ones ahead are green too, so traffic can move. Too many crossings too! Put up more gates to stop people crossing the road and direct them to the nearest crossing point.
  12. Firstly he did not apologise, he simply expressed sorrow for it. He could not apologise as he had no part in the slave trade and never profited from it, therefore how could he apologise?
  13. Meh. Mines on pre-order and will be delivered to my home on 8th December. 30 mins hitting F5 on the Amazon site was well worth it
  14. In theory that is true and all good and well, but in reality when you have no other information then i say it's pointless. The police would receive almost no help from reporting it.
