  6. Hello, my father in law has to go out of the house everyday to a taxi (provided by the nhs) to get to the northern general for dialysis. Thing is his path is sooo slippy. we have tried to clear it but its icing over. We have been buying salt but its not the same. grit box isnt within carrying distance. Would the council or someone bring him a bucket of grit so i cant put it on the path for him everyday? Cos yesterday he fell
  7. We gave you advice on calling 999 if you were that frightened didn't we.
  8. Like I said, like it or loathe it, it reflects tv of this decade.
  9. Probably people who don't own a tv set and listen to the 'wireless' lol
  10. I love top gear but it reflects nothing about tv programmes of this decade. I was very shocked, I'm open minded about all programmes but this decision is appauling. I would like to have seen a programme win which defines the type of tv of that has changed tv this decade. See my post above.
  11. People can say what they want about big brother, but it reflects exactly what tv turned into these last 10yrs, from the start of the noughties right to the end!! from this reality tv increased dramatically and had more viewings than any other 'genre' at the same time. It brought about live streaming. people came famous from it for good or bad. All sorts of reality programmes came from this and took over our screens, such as strictly, I'm a celeb get me out of here etccc. It might not be everyones cup of tea, but more love it than lothe it. People may have it BUT be honest, I can't think of a better programme to reflect tv of the noughties and if your honest neither can you.
  12. I couldn't pin point a 'worst disaster' for me anything where someone dies is awful no matter how it happened
  13. Last week a letter came to me from more than home Insurance: 'to the exor of.......' we understand that mrs..... Has passed away and would like to offer our condolences. Please let us know details of debit details for the hse ins so where can insurance her property is covered at this difficult time' or words to that effect! Recently I cancelled my direct debit to more than, so an automated message will have been sent from my bank to them to notify them. Normally then I woul expect a letter from more than telling me they have been notified I've cancelled my dd, asking me to re set it up. Not this lol I laughed it off but my hubby and family don't think it's funny and said I need to seriously complain! What would you do?
  14. exactly, in fairness to the op she thought 101 would be ok and rightly so, but they should have told her they couldn't responded quick enough and this person should have been given options. But clearly she wasn't otherwise she wouldn't have sat waiting in a frightened state for so long.
  15. I'm responding to what she told us happened. another prime chuffin example of you not Reading.
  16. Yes thats right. well done. She phoned 101 when it was happening and she felt in danger and they were rubbish, next time she would be better ringing 999. And if 101 couldnt help they should have said so in the call and advised her what to do!
  17. Your actually quite a funny little thing arent you. Anyway, your boring me. Come back when you have read what i actually put!! I hope the OP got their problem sorted, and to anyone else if you are that scared at what someone is doing and 101 dont do anything and you are in danger dont hesitate to call 999
  18. My attitude with me is simply because you had a go at me for saying something i hadnt actually said!! All because you didnt read it properly!! So next time you take it upon yourself to try and pull someone up on something I suggest you actually READ IT.
  19. Cant you read? I said I would respond to them if THEY got snotty with ME. Otherwise as my comment states I would just explain my problem and the attack that was happening. Now i suggest you either read what I have actually put or go and talk utter garbage on another thread.
  20. I think you have an inability to read properly! I said phone them up (about the attack with snowball stones and frightened to the point of shaking and not being able to talk properly) and IF they mention about it not being an emergency and get snotty THEN tell them that you had no choice as their other system failed to do what it was supposed to! (I DID NOT SAY JUST PHONE UP TO MOAN ABOUT THE SERVICE DID I)
  21. Exactly my point for godsake!!!! It should prompt them into improving their service! Not about being a smart arse. Its about pointing about that you wouldnt have had to do it if they did what they were bloody supposed to. So keep the 'loopy' symbol for yourself! And if someone is having stones thrown at their door and frightened to the point of shaking then its just as urgent! Pfft.
  22. I'd phone 999 and if they get snotty about it not being an emergency tell them to get their 101 sorted out then!
  23. so whats the actual name of it? or does it have 2 names? :/ Is this it? http://www.lacivetta.co.uk/ I might pop in and have a look
