  1. Hi Fuddy, really sorry to hear you're needing tips about chemo but here goes...when I was under Weston Park they were very helpful at trying to keep my nausea under control so please, if you're suffering - don't be shy! They do have a number of things they can try and help you with. I was given mainly steroids which just about kept it at bay but on the occasions I still felt queasy I would nibble a few dry arrowroot type biscuits. I also got a lot of useful suggestions/advice off the forum on the breast cancer care website, which might also be helpful for you even if it's not breast cancer you're referring to. You are able to just read the posts, you don't have to register or join. Take care and I hope you find things a bit more bearable soon.
  2. Times may have changed but 10-12 years ago my niece was "spotted" at Crystal Peaks by scouts from what at that time was a well-known, well-respected local modelling agency. I don't remember if she had to pay for her portfolio but she did have to buy some "catwalk" shoes(!?!?) - a pair of basic black mid-heel court shoes. She was on their books for a few months & got a couple of jobs (one was for a Hair magazine as I recall) but decided it wasn't for her & didn't pursue it. The agency were very specific about maintaining a generic model look - "Don't change your hair colour", "Don't cut your hair shorter than shoulder length", "Don't pluck your eyebrows" & (most worryingly) "The girls on our books who get the most work are size 8 or smaller" (to a 15/16 year old who was only size 10 anyway!).
  3. It's in the combined court centre building on West Bar. Go down Angel Street and it's at the bottom of there, after Argos & what's left of the Co-op. You want the big building, not the smaller one next to it as that's the family court. If you've ever done jury service or know someone who has, it's the same place.
  4. Nice as well if you start work at 8.30 & your manager won't let you spend 15-20 mins with the phone glued to your ear trying to get through. (Coz when you ring any later than 9 o'clock it's all booked up.)
  5. Think I've heard the same sort of talk as Hetty & WallBuilder - that it's going to become a retirement village type of development.
  6. I have to say I've noticed several passengers boarding my regular bus and tendering a £20 note for a 50p fare!! On one occasion the driver gave out 19 pound coins and a 50p in change and the passenger then started complaining but the driver insisted he accept the £19.50!!
  7. If you were divorced at Sheffield County Court since the year 2000 they may be able to search their computer and print a certified copy for you. I think that costs about a fiver. If it was before then you have to find out your divorce number from the central registry in London. It used to be £25 but I think it's gone up a lot since then. An original Decree Absolute or a certified copy is identified by a red County Court seal at the top right hand corner of the document, as opposed to the Decree Nisi, which has a black one.
