  1. I used to be in a band called Polkadodge (did OKAY nothing crazy few gigs with Catfish & The Bottlemen & Little Comets) and we're just looking for a new bassist to try in our band. Hopefully got some good opportunities (BBC Session etc all sorted for when we are up & running again) and hopefully a lot more. We are very eager to find a replacement for our bassist that left. We are influenced by The 1975, Fleetwood Mac, U2, The Killers but many bands to be honest. We love having a good thrash on our instruments with high energy performance but also have a love for synth/80's in music too. I've put an old song of ours below (we may well not keep this) just to give people an idea. We must stress we also want the bassist to have a passion of trying to get as big as possible & be open to the idea of hopefully 1 day being stuck on a lovely big tour bus in the middle of nowhere remembering replying to this silly advert Smile x
  2. Good Evening! Im in the local band Polkadodge & I’m eager to rent a practise room if anyone has any please? Preferably with a PA in it. John
  3. My band is considering maybe adding a synth player to the set up.I dont want to give the band name away incase we decide not to do it haha but we're defiantley thinking about it! We are very ambitious and member would have to enjoy gigging a lot and want to record & take the band as far as we can go. We love bands such as The Killers, Fleetwood mac, Bruce Springsteen, The Smiths, U2 etc so we rely on epic songs but try & make them less cheesy and more catchy. We have played all over Sheffield & around and have some big gigs comnig up including The Leadmill on a Friday night, so you're walking into a band playnig GOOD venues! If you are interested PM me and I'll send you some of our tunes Member ideally aged between 19-25 Thanks x
  4. my band is supporting! http://www.facebook.com/polkadodge
  5. Anyone ever used this studio before? It sounds decent on this video, and its a steal at £60 a song. Seems good! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4NIfSHdX_c
  6. lucky you, hes ruining mine and since it breaking ive heard an unbelievale amount of bad press. Wavelengh, richtone music, redfurn rehearsal studios. You will find very little good press about him
  7. it ends in 2011. Just goes straight to disconnected
  8. Hey there, I have a fender deville amp with a few issues (thanks to Pete Hartley! ) and really need a few issues fixed. I heard sound idea is good but the number i got dosent work. Anyone please help me? Thanks
  9. Hey again, Right I'm not going to sound patronizing but I doubt a lot of people are in bands on here. Too many people are saying reasons not to use promoters. I haven't said we want paying once in any post, I'm not asking for money. In addition to this I've been playing in bands for years and years and venues have changed. As for the two venues you mentioned, I have played both, but they have changed a lot since then. A woman called Claire used to control O2 support slot gigs but she has since left and the replacement Adam hasn't sent out one support slot email as of yet, so simply contacting the O2 doesn't work. In addition to this The Harley has moved to only offering support slots for acts who are touring or already on a small indie label or through PROMOTERS, hence me asking. I think everyone thinks I'm an idiot who hasn't ever gigged or seen how it works
  10. Well It would only be me doing it acoustically, and I was banking on lot of pubs already having the PA in place. If they didn't I would use my Fender Deville amplifier to put my mic through or something, few different options. As I wouldn't be splitting it, I could afford to do it for less than £120-£150
  11. Hey man, well yeh I know that much as anyone. In a band atm and most places skank you. Some worse than others, don't get me wrong I love playing live and things but places in Sheffield rarely give you a fair deal, and many far worse. That's the reason as to why I'm trying to earn some extra cash for myself to help the band. I read on here some people charge £120i-£150 which sounds like loads to me, I just meant I'll undercut that considerably. Thanks
  12. Just also adding, the fee I would be expecting would not be extortionate, and I'm sure I would certainly undercut some people, without being any less good.
