  1. Football fans who cause trouble have one thing in common.....when they are on their own they are quiet. All the noise and bravado comes when they have a gang of mates with them .....who are also a bit thick.
  2. The council don't recommend you burn garden waste...They recommend you do not burn waste......and take legal action against anyone who causes a nuisance with smoke from garden bonfires.
  3. You can have a bonfire only if you do not cause a nuisance to neighbours ......or you could just decide irrespective of nuisance to put others before yourself and dispose or your waste in a proper manner rather than burn it.
  4. thats fine, but of course other neighbours who have their garden or house affected by smoke may disagree.
  5. Well I don't think it was inaccurate in response to the question which was regarding regular fires. But I am not interested in petty point scoring, the main point of this thread is to try and encourage people not to light bonfires that effect their neighbours by filling their homes and gardens with smoke. It's no much consolation if this occurs as a one off but still ruins your day..... or night if the smoke is seeping in through bedroom window. Particularly if you get a number of one offs from different residents. It's consideration to your neighbour that is the key and as I said previously it's not really possible to have a garden bonfire and not effect neighbours, unless you live some distance away. But incredibly so many people think they are can have bonfires and are oblivious to the smoke emissions drifting all over the place.
  6. This thread isn't about a single occurrence if you read the original post. It is about regular garden bonfires affecting residents with smoke which is a nuisance.
  7. My road is completed and very good, so much better.
  8. There are no times for garden bonfires, they are only allowed if you are not causing a nuisance to neighbours, which for most people in Sheffield isn't possible, unless you live on a farm or a long way from other houses. For some reason many people think they are allowed after 7pm which isn't the case.
  9. Interesting that Sheffield city centre is very popular for visitors, the Hotels are nearly full every weekend, the bars restaurants and cafes are very busy, the theatres and live music venues are well supported, Leopold Square, Devonshire Green, Tudor Square and the peace gardens are buzzing when the weather is nice.....and yet some Sheffield folk on here think it is a dump and haven't visited for ages.
  10. Really great news someone is putting the time effort and money into getting the Boardwalk back up and running as a music venue again. The combination of live music real ale and food is an excellent idea. I will be down there once it's open and I'm sure it will do well.
  11. Are there really people in Sheffield who haven't noticed the 50 million pound cuts in recent years from central government on the Council have not had a disastrous impact on local services? On the old, disabled, young, special needs, sports facilities, parking fees, bin collections, etc etc etc......?
  12. Great it's back open again....excellent city centre bar......time for a pint.
  13. I went in yesterday and they have done a great job doing it up. It serves food in the front room and there is a bar in the rear room as usual. i hope they can get it back buzzing like it used to be. Also they have painted it white outside and call it Trippets again ...all good..
  14. cracking video Eric.........thanks.......it captures the weekend, great music, hot weather brilliant atmosphere in Sheffield...the best Tramlines yet...2014 will take some beating...
