  5. Without a doubt LibreOffice has it's Plus Points, even over SoftMaker Office and M$ Office. Let's face it, anything is better than Office365. The issue for me with the way LibreOffice is at present is there is an awful lot of background options. SoftMaker Office full version (the 2018 iteration is free for students and Teachers and comes (in the Windows version) with a fully working Equation Editor based on MathType 2000 - you do get the nag to upgrade to Math Type but you don't need to as SoftMaker Office Equation Editor is far superior to the one in Word. At the end of the day, Open Source wins hands down. Recently I was working on my Linux box to produce an Exam paper in MLP as the Exam Board did not have one available. I had my pdf Studio Pro crash on me (later turned out that the hard drive was failing as all directories weren't pointing to where they should be. So new hard drive arrived, set everything up again and did some research. Out of curiosity I tried the demo of SysInternals pdf recovery tool (Virtual Machine of Windows 8 required to login to specific mailbox for work) - failed. Found out Linux has an excellent utility called pdftk - available via Synaptic Package Manager. I was able to 'fix' the pdf into readable format and used Okular (also available for Windows users now) to extract the text into a new modified pdf and then used LibreOffice Draw to also view the pdf to extract the modified Inkscape images I had made without copying the text labels across. Problem solved! Forgot to add you can view MS Publisher files in LibreOffice Draw too!
  6. We had a plumber round for something else and I mentioned about heat pumps - this will depend on how high your water pressure is. He told us of a client of his who was wanting a heat pump but it would mean him installing 3 diferent appliances at a cost of over £3,000. As for this move to ban Gas Boilers this has been down to the International Energy Authority really pleased how British Public have been obeying all the stuff that Covid brought with it that gave them this idea in the first place. Climate change is all a hoax: And as for electric cars, Black Lives don't appear to matter for the Creusers in the Congo risk their lives to extract Cobalt that is needed for rechargeable batteries from smart phones to Notebooks to Electric Cars - as they are not provided with protective clothing they get Cobalt poisoning and any offspring they do have if their crude mines don't collapse on them are born with defects as a result of paternal exposure to Cobalt. Elecrtric cars are no solution whatsoever. CO2 in the video from Sky News Australia prove that the Sahara desert is getting green again due to CO2 emissions, and a photo taken by NASA no less. Even if we were having severe climate change as a result of our activity (it's not it is the Sun's activity!) the known world supply of Cobalt is 35 years so Electric cars are not the solution - as there isn't a problem in the first place. The Agenda is being pushed by those who want ot control us in all manner of ways. WTFU!

  11. As you have normally been using ethernet connection and hardly used wifi have you unchecked 'Power Saving' settings in the properties of the wifi? By default, all versions of Windows have 'save power' checked at point of install, i.e., enable Windows to turn this device off to save power - this was designed with Notebooks in mind. I've even had to remind Techies at work about this when colleagues were having issues with Surface Pros - and that was the problem! 😉
  12. Well a Canadian radio podcast interviewing a Canadian scientist who has studied the Japanese data gave some grave news. They have now found out that the vaccine is toxic as it uses the same spike protein as that found in the virus. Out of 13 care workers given the jab, 11 were seriously affected and it is now been proven that it can cross the blood barrier to enter the brain. Breast feeding mothers have been monitored and the babies feeding from mothers who have had the jab have had internal gastric bleeding. A Texas senator made a comment that on a vaccine for something else was stopped being administered after 3 deaths - he commented that since the introduction of the Covid Vaccine in the US there have been 3,000 deaths to recipients who had no underlying health conditions. Needless to say, YouTube pulled it! As the Austrailian Sky News reporter Alan Jones said that the 'pandemic' has affected 1% of the the global population and whilst India has had 3,000 deaths a day, there are 27,000 deaths a day totally unrelated to Covid in India. And the International Energy Authority have been so impressed how people have responded by following rules, they are about to scrap gas heating for electric heating in order to 'save the planet' - the planet does not need saving!
  13. ... and if you have the NHS Track and Trace App I suspect you have in effect agreed to your data being given away for third party sales in NHS Digital!
  14. Well here are a couple of articles from the Guardian you should be concerned about relating to patient data: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2021/may/30/gps-warn-plans-share-patient-data-third-parties-england https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/may/30/the-guardian-view-on-medical-records-nhs-data-grab-needs-explaining You only have until 23rd June to opt out - after that you data could be shared with any 3rd Parties and whoever calls the shots your identity could be revealed to 3rd Parties. https://www.mirror.co.uk/money/gas-boilers-be-banned-2025-24134523 The myth about global warming:

  16. I would give LibreOffice Calc a try, or SoftMaker Office Planner - you can get the FreeOffice version of SoftMaker Office from here: https://www.freeoffice.com/en/ Don't bother with the Android app though as Printing is disabled until you sign up for an 0.89p a month subscription. For Android I'm using OnlyOffice with no cloud as not needed.
  17. Microsoft Office is terrible to look at (365). I've been using the Linux version of SoftMaker Office - much easier on the eyes and my productivity whilst working from home has been more streamlined using that than MS Office any day. If you don't want to shell out, then try their free version, Free Office - more logically thought out than any MS product - probably because it is German engineering at its software best! https://www.freeoffice.com/en/ But I wouldn't bother with their Android offering - free to download and use but to print needs a monthly payment of 0.89p! I swapped it out for OnlyOffice for Android.
  18. You really ought to delete that app as it is the first steps to not just monitor covid but a digital passport for everything. It's a backdoor to ending society as we know it: https://youtu.be/9JO2w40y3Q8
  19. Something a bit quirky from the late great Tony Capstick. https://youtu.be/TDhynM4TZvM
  20. I still have this in my singles collection!
  21. My most recent purchases have been retrowave (New Retro Wave) purchases of bands on Bandcamp. City Nights by DRYVE (1 digital track) Just Drive by W O L F C L U B (dIgital album, Vinyl arriving sometime in July) Thanks in Advance by Ollie Wride (Digital album) Then recently remembered I had Kristian Leontiou's album SOME DAY SOON on CD so have ripped that to my Music Library and listening via Audacious music app in Linux while working from home.
  22. I'm paying about £5 a month more for slower broadband than TT with Zen but the connection is faster. Why? Because unlike TT you get a static IP address. PS4 game connection is faster than when I was with TT. Zen uses home based help centre staff working from home and if you are in a queue you are continually updated as to where you are. Not only that when you do get through you are talking to someone with IT knowledge not call centre staff working to a script. Only had to call them a few times during the change over from TT but can't praise them highly enough. It's like everything else - you get what you pay for,
  23. What mail client were you using before Office365? Thunderbird? It should be easy enough to get you mail back using Thunderbird if you know your ISP mail settings - Thunderbird will do it for you automatically if you know your email address and password. System Restore won't work if you have Anti-Virus enabled - learnt that with previous iterations.
  24. Whatever happened to Kristian Leontiou? I have the CD - great album.
