  1. Ages after you posted, but I too lived just off Ravencar Road and went to Eckington School from 1985 on. I wonder if I know your son?
  2. Mr Wilson (if it's the same one) had me for French at Eckington in 1989/1990 (I think). He used to be a plod if I remember rightly. Nice chap and a good teacher, even if he didn't believe me when I told him I'd get a B in French (when GCSEs were hard).
  3. The paintings are only old ones, from between 1800 and 1910 ish. if there is still a chanve your dad could have been one of them (I obviously have no idea of your ages). post again and I will give you further details.

  5. I didn't, but I taught at Pipworth infants. I heard it was an ex pupil who tried to burn it down? Did they succeed?
  6. I have a book called The Great Sheffield Picture Show which was apparently produced in conjunction with an art show at Kelham Island. Has anybody else ever heard of it?
  7. My old fella used to be good mates with Stringfellow, back in their teens.
  8. I have been doing a bit of family history and found out my great great grandfather was a monalizer by profession. Does anybody have an idea what this is. I have searched t'internet and can find nowt. Ta
