  1. People always took out life insurance to pay for their funeral.
  2. Your comment that it was probably damage control after they decided to employ Johnson. Yes I know it is a fact as I listened to the broadcast.
  3. They wanted to help ex servicemen and women in need. Nothing amusing about that.
  4. The Royal British Legion were finding it difficult to recruit poppy sellers in Brighton. Patrick Christy of GBnews decided to start a Just Giving site to raise the £10,000 normal collected in Brighton. Between yesterday and today over £150,000 has been raised for the RBL. Well done GBnews !
  5. What about the people you speak to ? The Reform party may take votes from the Tories. I consider the Home Secretary to be the best we have had for many a year. As I said above I do not know who will be best for me until we hear their plans for the future.
  6. People I speak to do not think Labour have anything to offer and even though there is criticism of the conservatives I think it is a case of "better the devil you know "
  7. I have not changed my opinion at all. I asses each party on their policies and behaviour. I do not vote for a party just because of the name of the party. The Conservatives seem to be in the lead at the moment because Labout are not making clear any future policies. Both of us owe a debt to the conservatives for allowing us to buy our council houses.
  8. What I found astounding was that Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corburn were considered by their parties the best people to lead the country at home and on the international stage. Neither appeared to resemble leaders. Which leads us to ask how the situation developed ?
  9. New jobs with fancy titles will be created and manuals of guidance written.
  10. The outcome will be, We made mistakes and lessons will be learned for the future.
  11. I have been listening and holding the hostages only increases the tension and provocation. Why isn't the Hamas govt. trying to stop the "war" by this one simple act ? Tribalism.
  12. Strange that there is no outrage being shown about the hostages who are still being held. Plenty of voices raised about Israels retaliatory attacks but if the hostages were released these military actions may cease.
  13. Greed, selfishness and power over others. Maslows Heirarchy of Human Needs explains most things.
  14. The attack on 7th October was by Hamas terrorists. Hamas is the elected government of the Palestinians. The Hamas government does not have a regular army. Was the attack sanctioned by the government ? No one seems to be asking this question.
  15. I made a contribution this morning summarising the situation as. I understood it from media sources. On a serious note I consider the situation is much more involved than the general public are privy to. One always has to question how comprehensive and unbiased media reports are and what are the journalists sources. The above paragraph does not only relate to recent events but events over the past 50 or so years. 1990ish brought about part self determination for Palestine releasing it from the Egypt/Jordan overseeing so what has or has not happened since then to continue the aggression, or is it because of the Egypt/Jordan cessation of overseeing the country ?
  16. Organgrinder and I have a bit of banter. You’ll have to excuse or ignore us pensioners.
  17. A lot has happened since 1918 that is very relevant. You need to update your post please. ( Not a question did you notice ? )
  18. But that is ancient history, what about more recent developments ?
  19. That looks like a budgie running along its perch.
  20. I wouldn't call me a righty by any means .
  21. Without van drivers the economy would grind to a standstill.
