  1. Why is Escape in Chapeltown now called Thorncliffe Arms? Was t that the pub on Watren Lane?
  2. I think it's the same guy. Saw him getting out of the new car the other day.
  3. Youd think someone would have told him about this thread by now!!!
  4. He lives in the second house down I think. Parks there even when there's a space at the other side. Absolute nightmare. Would be a shame if his car got scraped by a pram on the way past. Who in their right mind would park there!!!
  5. Another crash today. 2 cars, one with front damage, one with side damage. Passengers already removed when I drove past, hope all were ok. Something obviously needs doing. I don't know what.
  6. My parents are retired, and stay at home all day ever day mostly. They live in Chapeltown and got accepted for panels from a shade greener. They are very happy with them.
  7. I went in Tuesday, thought it was ok. However, the 15 mins it took to get from the Kilner way entrance to the actual Sainbury's car park would put me off going again, unless entering from another direction is any quicker. This was at 12.15... not even rush hour.
  8. This maybe.... https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100007237155797
  9. Noticed a sign today saying change of speed limit. Maybe they've read this thread!!
  10. Great, I went through at 5pm, most likely doing more than 30!!
  11. Warning about bogus blue-light vehicle in Barnsley Police in Barnsley have issued advice to motorists following reports of a possible bogus blue-light vehicle in Wortley. The advice follows an incident on Soughley Lane, Wortley, on Friday 1 August when a man tried to grab a woman from her car. The lone woman was driving at 10.40pm along Soughley Lane when she saw blue lights in her rear-view mirror. The woman pulled over and stopped her car, believing the car behind to be a police vehicle. A man then opened her driver’s side door and tried to pull her from the car. Thankfully, after a struggle, the woman managed to start her car and drive away. Detective Inspector Sharon Hancock said: “Purporting to be a police vehicle is against the law and we urge anyone driving in the area to remain vigilant. “If motorists are in any doubt when being stopped, they should wait in their car with the doors locked until they can clearly see police identification. An officer will be happy for you to call the police, give your location and get confirmation that it is a police officer with them. “This appears to be an isolated incident but extra patrols are taking place in the area to offer reassurance to local residents.” Anyone with information about the bogus vehicle should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1249 of Friday 1 August. - See more at: http://www.southyorks.police.uk/appeals-information/warning-about-bogus-blue-light-vehicle-barnsley#sthash.806ZpXev.dpuf

  13. Or another alternative, go to a pawn broker type place, most of them will put stuff on layaway - pay a deposit, then make payments, interest free, until fully paid for then the item is yours.
