  1. You can see the origin of someone by something called the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) when people have organ transplants you have to match these up if not the organ will be rejected (Its called HLA typing). bit about HLA on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_leukocyte_antigen Doesn't mention about showing peoples origin but I have a friend who is an HLA typer
  2. Hi, I've been told that the council maybe moving onto elm crescent allotments after they have finished on the moss way ones to improve security (i.e. put a fence round the site) I was wondering if anyone was 'in the know' as to if this happening. Me and my mate have got one up there and have noticed a number of place where people could easily break in-needs sorting out properly before the summer months when the schools are off and the nights are longer!
  3. Hi to correct a few points so people don't get confused the postcode for Moss way, elm crescent (Moor crescent on the map) and ferncroft are in the S20 area not S13. And I think Plumbley, southall green and reignhead farm fall under the same aswell
  4. just to update, site has now been cleared and talking to the the allotment bloke from the council the fence should be started in the next two weeks. As regards to the planned allotment society I was wondering if it would be possible to incorporate elm crescent in with it? were up on that one but there's only about 15 plots (most of which are starting out) so its not really big enough to have our own. get a bigger community going.
  5. Cheers Willman, Im only at mosbrough so when my allotment mate gets back off hol we'll have a run down.
  6. Any ideas where I can get hold of those pointed round fence posts that the council use as tree supports etc, at a cheap rate their 5 quid a pop in the DIY stores but surely you'll be able to get them cheaper. I need about 30 of em the ones that are about 6ft. Cheers pat
  7. I'd be surprised if 100ltr of water would freeze has that's quite a lot of water, but just in case why done you go to a shop such as Curry's or Comet they'll always be throwing bubble wrap and polystyrene out and just wrap it round it?
  8. Hi all, I thought I'd just mention I've got a load of free windows from the kier blokes who's doing the council houses up (im going to make a greenhouse out of them), they let me have them as soon as I asked! there in the S20 are if anyone's interested.
  9. I forgot the abbeydale picture house! Not art deco but Georgian buildings are lovely to; Paradise square, the snuff mill at sharrow vale and the buildings on glossop rd should all get a mention!
  10. I love art deco! my favourite art deco buildings in Sheffield are the library, the showroom, the lescar pub and on rockingham street just above the soyo bar theres a nice little art deco building. You know of any others?
  11. its 160G-its not massive I only really use it for uni to be honest. Thanks for your help. Is this a free piece of software?
  12. My computer keeps saying my hard drive is full but apart from a load of pdf files and some music (4.8G) I havn't got much on it? could the internet be downloading updates of something that's filling my hard drive up that I don't know about?
  13. Where at mosborough and the bloke at the back off us has had some metal pipes and other bits of metal taken. Killing the chickens is absolutely disgusting. Why would anyone do that? Its a bit strange though because the bloke who's had that stuff nicked keeps birds and they didn't disturb them. I don't think anyone else on the site had owt taken mind.
