Last week I was in the company of someone who likes to spend above average on a bottle of wine. She never buys any bottle at under twenty quid. Being the cheapskate I am I decided to invest in a £2.99 bottle of Red from the local spar. Listillo was the make, a spanish soft and fruity red with subtle flavours of redcurrants and rasberries balanced with a hint of vanilla. I kid you not my friend loved it and demanded to know where she could buy a crate full. This of course put me in an awkward situation because I knew I'd only paid £2.99 for it. I didnt want her to think - well you know what women are like - that £2.99 is all she is worth. I belatedly told her where I had purchased it from and I havent heard from her since. She is either in a self induced wine coma or wine snobbery has ruined any chance of me seeing her again.

True but without pain relief for child birth such as Epidural or Pethidine I am quite confident that a kick in the chin warmers would cause much less discomfort than natural child birth.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that most male John Lewis customers wear Corduroy or Farah trousers? Also the female John Lewis shopper seems to be the all fur coat and no knickers type. I do like the John Lewis business ethic though. Nice shop and the perfume section shop assistants are cute.

I'll tell you what, the insurance companies have now spanked me for thousands over the years and Ive never claimed once. By stuffing me with these unfair rises year after year if I am ever the victim of an unfortunate accident I'm going to claim the bloody arse of them for as much as I can get. Treating their safest drivers like this will only add to the compensation culture.

Same here. Nine years no claims and the renewal price was £130 higher than a year ago. I rang them to cancel got put through to retentions and they got it down by £50. Still not happy so did a few online quotes and couldnt find any cheaper so stuck with origional insurer.

Everyone should get to grips with The big society, peoples choices etc. The last government was a nanny state,we are now getting away from it. Let me give you an example, you have a heart attack, you phone a number and speak to someone in an offshore call centre which will not cost more that £1.00 per minute from a landline, choose the correct selections and when you have agreed that you have a had a heart attack, a pack will be sent out to you so you can treat yourself by a one hour delivery guaranteed motorbike courier, no more government interference. Surgeons, Doctors and Nurses do not add value to the big society they cost money, quite a lot in fact, they use up resources and quite frankly put so much pressure on administration and management. Anyway I must dash ive got a plane to catch to the states for surgery in ten hours. Tally ho!
