  1. My son has been working for amazon over xmas while he is in between jobs, Basically anyone can apply to do deliveries, once you have been accepted you just go on the site and all the slots that are available are there for the taking, they are 4 hour slots and it gives you the price for the slot, you then go to the wearhouse at Doncaster, you are given an area no more than a 3 mile radius to deliver the parcels, it’s very organised and my son has really enjoyed it. The price varies between £50-80 per 4 hour slot depending how busy they are
  2. My partner and I were travelling along this stretch of road very early one morning on our way to Manchester airport, it was light about 6am, I was sat in passenger seat and just happened to see out of corner of my eye what I thought was a guy walking in the side of the rd but not on the rd, the other side of barrier in the grassy bit, he was wearing a hoody and that’s all I recall as we had obviously gone past in a split second. I said to my partner how odd where on earth is he going/come from at this time in the morning, no houses, shops factories or anything nearby.......he wasn’t jogging or running, just walking, very bizarre I thought.
  3. thanks very much for that Mister M that's just the thing I have been looking for but couldn't find very interesting thanks again
  4. Thanks for your reply haddy, I have never heard of air commision, it's worth taking a look thanks again
  5. I wonder if anyone on here can help I work in a relatively small office with one small window There are 3 or 4 us working in there ( I am there for 6 hours 5 days a week) Because we deal with the public and have a reception desk the door between the back office and reception has to remain closed (due to confidentiality reasons) as the staff in the back office are taking phone calls. My problem is because there is no adequate ventilation in the office (except for a small window) the temperature gets very high and becomes like a greenhouse, the manager has provided 2 desk fans which are on constantly on all day, but in my opinion are useless unless you are sat on top of it and then it is just in your face which is not good. Anyone walking in the office is basically knocked out with the heat. What my main concern here is the health of the staff....surely the constant churning of air in the same small office is not healthy as the germs in the air are just being circulated and breathed in. Whether its just co-incidence or not since management insisted on the door being closed I have had a chest/throat problem which is worrying and one collegue is off with a chest infection at the moment. When we say anything to the management its a case of put up or shut up they dont give a dam about our health being cooped up in a small office with inadequate ventilation. We are all sick of it but dont know where to take our complaints. Any advise would be appreciated from anyone in the know. Many thanks
  6. From what I can gather El Cid you are so stuck in your own ways and now it has suddenly changed you are struggling to adapt to having to consider another person before you do what you want to do....very understandable. I was the same, after being on my own for a while met someone both had same feelings moved in together and it was hard to begin with. I really do hope you can work work something out, you don't have to live in each others shoes, live apart, have your own space......meet up for drinks, cook a meal for a night in together, spend time getting to know each other before making major changes to your life.....don't suddenly neglect your friends and family though, you will prob need them to give you advise along the way If she is the one then I am sure you will soon be making bigger plans sounds like it could be a great relationship good luck
  7. the one I go to is at Crystal Peaks, they do a great Job £12 inside and out
  8. I love the valet service at some shopping centres, not only because you don't have to drive around looking for a space, you just drop it at the area and they take care of it. How nice is it to come back from a shopping trip to a gleaming, fresh smelling car....
  9. absolutely agree They could actually have meters on these spaces.....I wouldn't mind paying a few pounds to stop my Merc getting bashed to bits
  10. I am very keen to go to a spiritualist church, I have never been to one before so would be very grateful to anyone who can tell me a little about what actually happens. Obviously I would love to receive a message from a loved one but does everyone who attends get a message or just a case of pot luck, is it similar to that of evenings of clairvoyance where the medium shouts out and expects the audience to claim the spirit. I have been to these evenings and paid £10 or whatever and come out feeling very conned. What is the difference at a spiritualist church. Would be grateful for any info and tips from anyone who attends these churches. Thanks x
  11. My sister who lives in Leicester had the storm an hour ago, its now very sunny there so hopefully on its way up here
  12. that's another thing, he has applied for nearly all the jobs going but they never get back to you, is so frustrating hes a bit worried that his age might be agiainst him (early fifties) applied for a few local engineering jobs so fingers crossed
  13. Thank you for the replies 999tiger hopefully we will get some news shortly as whats happening with the company, at the moment we are in limbo dongle....anything in mechanical engineering 30 years experience, the company he was with was a wind turbine company
  14. Basically my partner received an e-mail on 21.06.14 saying that the company he works for had suspended trading. This was the day before payday and hey ho no wages went in which means he worked a full month for nothing since this all he has had is the odd email saying we are trying to resolve things will have some news imminently....that's been going on for 1 month now and still no concrete news of whats happening, he dosent know whether he is still employed, redundant or what. we are now 8 weeks without any money whatsoever and getting a bit desperate. My partner went to try for job seekers so hopefully might get a few pounds but at the end of the day we have a mortgage and bills to pay. What we still have is a company vehicle and they haven't asked for it back yet, we were thinking of getting 'rid of it' to get a bit of money back from what they owe us in lost wages which by the way is about £3000 My partner is a bit reluctant to do this as he thinks he might get done for theft but I think it is only what they owe us in lost wages so they have robbed us so to speak and we need to live. Is this right for a company to keep employees hanging on like this with no information of whats happening, my partner thinks we should take legal advise but I don't know as that would cost money......urghhhh we are at our wits end now. He has applied for about 80 jobs but that is proving a nightmare too, stupid agencies that ring say they going to pass on your cv...then nothing
