  1. Your title is incorrect. Its not 52% of drivers. Its 52% of drivers who got pulled over by police because they were showing odd behaviours that indicated some kind of influence of drugs or alcohol
  2. There is no CCTV on the park and none of the shops have any on the car park (I work on the retail park)
  3. The "Proof of Purchase" is there to protect the retailer aswell as the consumer. This is to stop fraud or theft. Now I am not suggesting the situation im about to give is at all connected to the OP and I believe the OP is genuine. Take for example, a guy who likes to commit fraud. He picks up a box, from the shop, walks around with the box, then goes to the customer service and asks for a refund on this box. He did not purchase it, he is committing fraud. This is why "proof of purchase" is there, in this case protecting the retailer. Another situation is that a burgulary/mugging has been committed and the criminal is trying to return the stolen goods for the easy cash. Again, proof of purchase is there to protect that retailer. But as I say, it protects both, if the retail says you paid "£99.99" for a product and you know you paid £129.99, the proof is on the receipt. Depending on the till systems, sometimes its possible to search receipts via barcode or product codes, if the customer can give some unique facts about that receipt, like bank card numbers, different products also on the same receipt and such aswell as an exact date and estimated time, that may be looked upon as enough proof. This is why I always suggest by paying via Card which can be traced, rather than cash which can not. So the "Consumer Rights" is a 2 way street, provide the proof of purchase which is fulfilling your end of the contract, then the retail should fulfill theirs.
  4. You can also buy a Chromecast and stream apps like Netflix, iPlayer and Youtube to your tv. It uses your wifi network to do this. They cost £30
  5. Dont be doing that, or they'll be none left!
  6. Might need it (altho I'll hold judgement until we get this) http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/442873/Coldest-winter-in-modern-times-on-way-with-snow-forecast-for-Britain-starting-next-week
  7. Or maybe they were just testing the alarm system making sure its all working incase of a real emergency
  8. Whilst I agree the rejection of the laptop due to wear and tear is wrong, at 3 months old, the retailer has the choice for a repair/replacement/refund, not the consumer. The retailer must, within 6 months of purchase, prove that the fault was caused due to neglect/misuse to dismiss the repair, otherwise they have to provide one of the 3 options (generally a repair as its the cheapest option). After the 6 months then its up to the consumer to prove the defect was there since manufactor or from poor build quality etc http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8253915.stm this article by the bbc sums it up quite well
  9. If you google costa coffee sheffield heeley, theres a few planning application sites and job adverts
  10. As someone who works in a big shop thats effected by the sunday trading laws for many years, i believe they should firmly stay inplace. No one ever thinks of the employees in these shops, getting abuse from some customers who want unreasonable thinks. Knowing on sunday you can go to work relatively late and able to go home relatively early is a nice benefit, which is only 1 day of the week. Allows these workers to actually see family and be guarenteed 1 evening to sit down with family/friends and have a dinner or social event
  11. Maybe the officers in question were actually heading somewhere more serious, for example trying to make their way to a location to find a drug dealer, or a sex offender. Just because they pass something and dont do what you believe is correct, the correct procedures might of happened without your knowledge. If the case the officers were attending a much bigger picture, they might of clocked the road and description of the bike and passed it onto another team who wasnt dealing with anything else. All these are "what if" situations that you just have to assume sometimes
  12. The recent rumors suggest September, but nothing is for certain
