  1. I got caned while at Ecclesfield Juniors as several of us were throwing snowballs at the headmasters office window Just a couple of whacks across our freezing cold hands While at Colley a certain Mr Seamore took his cane out from a rack .. whacked it down on his desk and told me "unfortunately I'm no longer allowed to use this" and he gave me detention instead, Mind you if he'd have caned me I was ready to throw him out the window JJ..

  13. Of course the path on the Canal does go from Town right through and beyond Rotherham, but the path I mentioned is on the opposite side of the old Cooling Towers area, I went today to check it out, On the end of Alsing Road Just under the Viaduct is an info board, the path goes from there,Its an old path thats been cleared that goes inbetween 2 metal fences for most of the way with the rail way line on the left and the Blackburn Meadows site on the right, Part of the path is a bit smelly (due to the sewage plant) but not too bad :D It leads onto the Canals (on the corner where the orange things are at the wier) Not too long and to be honest Ive been on better scenic paths, but its a new one on me JJ..

  16. HI all, I read briefly in the Star a few weeks ago about a footpath that'd been cleared on the site of the old Tinsley Towers site, the pic showed the path going inbetween 2 fences and the people involved had been clearing the path of bushes etc to reopen the path, It was said it stretched for some 2 miles, Has anyone heard of this ? Is it the one that starts just under the viaduct ? Im hoping top pop down there on Thursday to have a look and wonder where it is/where it goes to etc, Thanks, JJ..

  18. Jeez what you been drinking ? I take my camera everywhere I go (never leave the house without it) for me photography is just something I do, There was a scene on "The Girl In The Picture" (crap film with that Gordon Sinclair bloke in) when he's walking home and goes beneath a motorway bypass,he looks up and the view changes slightly and pulls back to reveal the scene now on the wall, sort of from the eye of the photographer to the framed picture in one go, It really got me thinking about the art of photography, JJ..

  23. "any chance it could be a satellite or maybe the space station?" Honestly ? .. you've obviously never seen a satellite or the stn I took a few long exposures (architecture) and there's nothing but clouds in the northern sky from my location, It sounds more like a light display from a pub/club,its always hard to tell from reading a description on the net, But my money would be on the dreaded lanterns as per JJ..
