  2. No,Its is traveling in an arc on the picture,thats how the Moon "travels" across the sky (its really the Earth turning) To see the arc you would have to use a wider lens, Good Image by the way JJ..
  3. Ive got mates that feed the ones in Ecclesfield Park, also seen them up the top of Floodgate at night in the early hours, JJ..
  4. The moon won't look any different to any other unless you photograph it and measure it,even then we are talking such a small amount of difference .. My old Lumix has an 18x optical zoom (500mm eqiv) and even that only gives a small image,if I go into the full digi zoom (72x) its a good size,but nothing special The biggest "lens" Ive got is a 1900mm f15,but I can't attach the Lumix to it JJ..
  5. It'll be some slag from someplace,or just a strange stone,I doubt it'll be a Meteorite, Was it laying on the surface where yesterday it wasn't ? Google "Meteorite" and see if it looks like any of the pictures, It'd be good if it was .. :D JJ..

  8. I had a quick visit today to get some external photo's before the club is no doublt demolished Brought back some memories ! My Grandad was the President there for many years,and my Gramma used to work behind the bar too, Its boarded up now,so no pics looking through the windows JJ..

Another thread being ruined by ignorant people,and no mods about yet again, Im riding both MTB (Scott and Cannondale) and Road (Scott) at the mo,the dale cost over a grand and the Road bike is approaching that (and the RD bike is only an entry level bike) I got the RD bike for a good Peak District riding bike and Ive suitably geared it down for that Ive rode since 1994 and done over 21,000 miles upto now (never had an accident ) Prefare using the bike over the car anydays JJ..

  13. I got it on 2 orbits yesterday evening,the first it was very bright (brighter that Venus), 2nd rev it was just a dim star that disapeared into the Earth's shadow, but tis good to know there be humans up there JJ..
  14. I live not far away from the old place,my Mom used to send me up with an empty tub and ask for a refill . all free of course JJ..
  15. I found with long exposure shots of the M1,that closing down he aperture a little more kept the road darker,and highlighted the car light trails better, I used to spend hours taking photo's of the motorways and country lanes JJ..

I remember talking to the park keeper one summer (back in mid to late 70's) when he asked us to keep an eye on the main pipe while he went and opened the tap (presumably in the bowling green place) we waited for what seemed an age before the water .. or should that be brown liquid came out to fill the pool,we shouted as loud as we could to him to tell him it was working ! lol JJ..

  19. Ive used "Registax" for stacking images before (good free Astronomical software most amateurs use), Ask on the http://stargazerslounge.com about stacking there's some real experts on there JJ..

Actualy not that many people who use guns for pest control get what you'd describe as "pleasure" out of it,its a necesary job that sometimes has to be done, Anyone who shoots cats could and should be prosecuted,lets hope they catch the scum, JJ..

Shooting in gardens happens many thousands of times every day all over the country,all with in the law,and quite a lot of it in full knowledge of the police, no biggie at all, More injury's happen due to trips caused by loose socks, Go browse any of the shooting forums on the net and have a good read, JJ..
