  1. The black car came to rest into the side of my mates van,

So we had to wait till the Helecopter left the field at the side of the road,

Had to make other arangments to get home as the Police didn't want to move the Crashed car, both driver side doors were removed and it didn't look good at all :-(

The Kier van had the front destroyed pretty much,

Horrible thing to see and walk past to get home, but at least we wern't in the mates van at the time,as we were just walking back to it,and came across the aftermath of the crash,

The Emergancy Services did a great job,as did the Air Ambulance crew,

I hope no one died in the accident :-(

  2. The majority of people who go to these interviews are declared fit for work,

    When they are not,

so having a man (medicle representative) with less experience of your condition than yourself or your Doctor telling you your fit for work is a little galling,

When I went I was only given 15 minutes of questions,

    and then a cheerful goodbye,

    And that was that !

My Doctor, psyche, and counciler all say I'm not ready to go back to work just yet,

I'm stilll waiting for the atos decision "to be made' after 2 months (as if its not a pre decided decision)

I'm BiPolar and none of the questions really concerned that,

However the atos building isn't hard to find ....

  3. I wish people wouldn't say that anyone with a political opinion that differs from their own are "idiots",

I don't support the EDL but I agree with a lot of what they say,but I also agree with some stuff the Left say,

Any trouble will be caused by the Left wing protesters as usual,

Why not just let them march and go on a "protest" another day ?

    Maybe I'm being naïve ..

  4. They said the factories/units on the other site were to be "sympathetic" to the area and the woodland next to it,

All to create the least visual impact to the area ..

.. So standard huge white ones then, the place is an eye sore from all over Ecclesfield,

I just hope whatever is decided actualy turns out OK for everyone local

  5. Get a Hybrid (lol

I'd always recommend a MTB for commuting on our cities pot holed roads,

Rd bikes are a world apart but you'll end up with aching wrists and arms when you get to work,

£200 is a small amount for a MTB I'd go 2nd hand and see if you like it

Maybe save and get something good eventually

    Enjoy !

  6. You don't carve up the local parks and woodlands just for a few jobs,

Lifes about much more than that,

At the meeting the other year it was said that the actual slag heaps could not be touched due to number of trees on them,

There's loads of wildlife on the site, but there was on the other part (now the half empty business park) and the ponds all got filled in,

The woman who was in charge of the land survey said it was amazing as to the amount of wildlife on the site,so that argument against the work probably wouldn't hold,

But why does it take so long after the work finishes ?

They could just walk away and leave it,foot paths find themselves,

I'll be at the meeting,I'm half and half as I don't want the heaps flattening as the views from up there are well worth the climb,

We should have more public green spaces not less,

  7. I'd have gone to the meeting in May if I'd have known about it !

But they like to keep stuff like this quiet,

I did go to one a few years ago where the main push was to build up to 100 new houses at the back of Cowley,

Also there was to be a cycling velodrome built !

I'm often up that way either walking or on the mountain bike and its OK the was it is,as it has returned to nature as it surprisingly a calm and quiet place to walk,

But maybe better access and paths would be a good idea, not sure,

But if the end result is better for everyone then fair do,

  8. My fav is The Fox and Hounds (fox hill),a lot better now its been sorted out,

Never had any trouble in there which if there was I wouldn't bother going in,

Other than that I've only popped into a few over the last several months

But The Shiney Sheff,3 Merry Lads have been enjoyable,

And as mentioned The Commercial at Chapeltown aint too bad

if a bit cramped when busy.

  9. I saw it from opposite Ecclesfield Church, absolutely great back drop for pictures,

The atmosphere was brilliant and everyone was smiling and cheering at every truck lorry or police motorbike !

The police smiled and encouraged everyone to make as much noise as they could do ( a first on me lol)

Each lorry had good looking smiling girls on which for Sheffield can't be bad (lol)

Got some video and loads of photo's of the nice blonde lass and the flame as she passed,

Even though it lasted a few seconds this young man enjoyed the whole community spirit,

OK the zion games are costing a ridiculous amount, but in the big picture of money being stolen by the banks its nothing,

My family owned farms at Ecclesfield and my Granddad worked at the wmc on Church street for many years,I felt quite proud of our Village and its history having the torch come through was brilliant (even though it should've actually gone through the actual village instead of skirting the edge)

It was a good day for us all for a change :-)

  10. Having just completed 32,000 miles on bikes with NO issues I feel a little left out here,

Just take up your correct place in the road, always be courtious to all other rd users

Always signal and wave to apologise if you do anything wrong,

    Basicly .. Don't be a prat !

And of course expect all motorist's to be trying their hardest to kill you !

I like the majority of cyclists I know also own a car,and never have issues apart from other drivers on mobiles while driving :-(

I wish everyone could get on together on the roads as cycling or driving is and should be a enjoyable thing,
