  1. Hi

My Husband has recently been diagnosed with AF and has been referred to Cardiology but i'm guessing the wait for an appointment is going to be months, rather than weeks.

So we are looking to pay privately to see someone fairly soon but doing a google search brings up many many options and it's difficult to pick someone who has a good reputation so wondered if anyone had any recommendations or idea where best to start looking.

    Thanks

  2. Been looking at Halfords and also a place in Chapeltown, Source Sounds. Bloomin' pricey getting this stuff fitted isn't it.

It's for my lad, first car and he's not got a lot of pennies.

    He's got a Vauxhall Corsa D.

Wants a head unit with apple car play.

Are they really that difficult to fit?

Do i need to buy a load of tools to do it?

I know he'll need the unit plus some sort of electrical cable pack, anything else?

    Cheers

  3. Does anyone know who owns the allotments that run parallel to Prince of Wales Road on the edge of Bowden Houstead Woods?

I've been in touch with Sheffield City Council about them and they've said they're privately owned and that's all they know.

Is there a way for me to find out?

    Thanks

  4. Can anyone help with some advice about a wall.
My sons bedroom is next to our spare room. It's a partition wall between them. One side has developed a big bulge and you can see its cracked as if the plaster has just popped out. Is this something that can happen with old houses? We do have a bedroom above (loft conversion) and was worried it was structural but the ceiling is fine, it's just the middle of the wall and if you press it you can hear the plasterboard moving.

  5. We recently had a new bathroom fitted.

The plumber was a bit of a shirker and cut corners on certain things.

Anyway, all of the seal around the bath has started to split because he didn't fill the bath when he did it(I questioned him on this and he said it didn't need to be). Anyway it now needs resealing and he isn't responding to texts. He finished the work about 2 wks ago.

Can he ignore me and refuse to fix it or is he legally obliged to rectify it?

    Thanks

  6. Can you stick a dehumidifier in there for a day or two, a good one would get the worse of the moisture out.

Well as long as you don't lay new floorboards, then shove a load of vinyl down ontop or something.

Thats the problem, got to put the new floorboards down now or i won't have a toilet

  7. Not really sure what to do.

I've smelt wee in our bathroom for a while and i knew there must be a leak.

Decided i wanted a new bathroom anyway and today the plumber has taken the toilet out and found that yes it has been leaking for a while. He has taken the floor up around the toilet but the joist is very wet about a foot long.

What do i do about the joist? I can't really leave it to dry out as i only have that bathroom so he is having to fit new floorboards so he can put the new toilet in. I'm worried it's just going to smell still and not dry out and the new floorboards will soak up the moisture from the joist?

    Stressed is an understatement!

  8. Thanks everyone! Will check out the links.

I am speaking to my GP this week so will ask about the NHS, I can however get private therapy paid for so may be quicker.

I'm not really a tooth grinder, have been to my dentist recently . Thanks

  9. What are your concerns ?

Attempt 1 they called to cancel the ambulance saying the appt had been booked with not enough time for Transport

Attempt 2 they went to is old address when he had been living at his new address for 4 months and had previously picked him up from that address.

Attempt 3 they were an hour late and then only sent one driver (you need 2 for an oxygen dependant patient)

Attempt 4 they left him sat in a wheelchair at the hospital yesterday to come home for 6hrs

    ---------- Post added 25-03-2016 at 16:14 ----------

The patient transport went to pot when Yorkshire Ambulance Service took over from the now defunct South Yorkshire Ambulance Service a few years back. I was a medicar driver and saw this happen first hand, as soon as Yorkshire Ambulance Service took over, the staff was totally crapped on and job satisfaction went through the window. If you are not happy with the service make a formal complaint to the hospital and let them sort it out, after all it is the hospital that foots the payment for your fathers transport.

A formal complaint has been sent in, yesterdays 6hr wait just adds to the fiasco and the Hospital put there own complaint in yesterday too

  10. Without going into too much detail, is an actual ambulance and trained staff required or could you get away with a taxi with a wheelchair lift? There are a few of those about.

My Dad cannot walk very far and is oxygen dependant so ideally needs trained help.
