We cannot keep increasing the number of cars or the amount of roads in this country. Sheffield needs an increase in cycle lanes and we should encourage the use of public transport, cycling, and walking, for the good of us all.

There is an electrical supply box outside the Cathedral as well as the one in City Road cemetery. Both have been moved a short distance to preserve them. There is a tram pole standing on Snig Hill near the police station. Also there are more than 50 manhole covers on the pavements around the city with 'Sheffield Corporation Electric Tramways' on them. There are several on South Road, Walkley and Rustlings Road, alongside Endcliffe Park, as well as odd ones all over the place.

Hello all , In another guise i present a current affairs programme on Sheffield Live FM (Communities Live). I would like to do a piece about Sheffield's tram history on the programme as i think many people are not aware that our trams started in 1877, not the 1990's! Whatever the price was in pennies it could be again if services were run for people not profit. We still (just about) run health and education on a non-profit basis and moving around is a basic human right too i believe, which means public tansport should be free at the point of use in a similar manner.

It is some logic to accuse people who form their views from real life and experience of being ' closed minded ' where as people who read an ancient book and believe it all for no reason whatsoever are ' open minded ' . Its a standard letter saying that you are entitled to 6 months contribution based JSA , after three ' waiting days ' hence September 2nd to March 2nd 2012. As others have said as long as you don't sign on you cannot commit fraud , even accidentally. JCP is a nightmare , populated by clueless 'managers' and staff who are doing their best in difficult circumstances.

Hello there - the spouse visa rules are complicated (and getting harder all the time i am afraid). Philippines has been designated a ' non-English speaking country ' which is crazy as almost everyone there learns English from a young age at school. Who do you think makes you pay your rate of tax? It's the Government that we all elect. i would hope that the vast majority of us (you included) would pay no more tax for a far bigger slice of society if those of us in the Green Party got our way. The reason you and me pay a bigger percentage of our income in tax than the rich is that their friends have been in power for 30 years. It's time for people like us to have some say. It's time for the rich to pay.

Yes - every day ; the Tories , Labour , Lib Dems , the media , big business , the banks etc. I really don't think supporters of the current political and economic system need any more space to air their views.

mistyblue - what are you about? , phew , you really have a chip on your shoulder! - is it just because there are 2 more Green Councillors than Blue ones in Sheffield :-) , that must hurt! - both the Lib Dems and Labour attack the Greens regularly because they remember the days when they too had some principles. Vote Green get Labour?, i hope not, but Vote Lib Dem get Tories? , oh yes!
