Ok but some of the ice cream flavours seem a bit "unusual"... Golden Age Delight – honeycomb pieces smothered in a rich chocolate and orange ice cream with just the tiniest hint of chilli. Christmas Surprise – a popular choice! Turkey ice cream with a generous helping of satsuma segments. Red Pit of Delight – cranberries, raspberries and tomatoes collude to make this a devilishly delightful dessert. Chalk and Cheese – they shouldn’t go together. But they do! Royal Turkish Delight – one of our initial top-sellers. Death By Chocolate – a gorgeous ice cream packed to the brim with butter, cocoa butter, dark chocolate, white chocolate, sugar, buttercream, honeycomb pieces, mint sauce, turkish delight, honey, treacle, cream, pecan nuts, milk chocolate chips, glace cherries, orange crispy bits and yeast extract. Madame du Popadom – a regal mix of champagne, mango chutney, cardamon and chilli-jellied snail. With spiced wafer. Magpie Mayhem – Britain’s forgotten fowl. A meaty and surprising affair that will light up anyone’s dessert bowl. Fish and Chips – red herring sauce drizzled over potato ice cream. A right British treat! Lady of The Lake – a single strawberry drowning in the finest blueberry ice cream. This was a special dessert commissioned to celebrate the Guinevere space mission. Silver Giant – creamy vanilla ice cream jam-packed with dragees (those little silver balls!). Best served in a tall glass in front of the television. Welsh Rarebit – mustard ice cream with cheesey croutons and a Worcestershire sauce – our unique version of the popular dish. Peas, Peas, Peas – A delightful union of the tangiest lime ice cream and fresh garden peas.

Anyone visited Torchwood House's web site? http://www.visittorchwood.co.uk there's a very bizarre link to http://www.millingdaleicecream.co.uk which must have some significance but I'm blowed if I can work it out!

Brilliant stuff, like those a lot!

Thought last week's was good too - the funeral of the curling player, where the dogs were pushed along the ice in their baskets with the curlers sweeping the ice in front of them!

There's a house down the road from me that has a Peugeot with "My other car is a Porsche" sticker in the back - and parked right next to it is the guy's other car which is, indeed, a Porsche...

There's a song by the Corrs that starts of with "Go on.. go-o on..." - could it be that?

This is not just a Marks & Spencer advert...
northernboy replied to spook's topic in Entertainment Chat
Passed through M&S and the "this is not just..." advert was playing on a loop over and over again... "This is not just Mother's Day... this is M&S Mother's Day" NO IT'S NOT!!! The poor souls who work there must be driven doolally! -
Dont forget to change your clocks tonight
northernboy replied to whisper's topic in General Discussions
We don't really get an extra hour's daylight though do we, it's the same amount of daylight just shifted around a bit. Personally I wish we didn't bother switching the clocks around at all, just decide on one time zone and stick to it! -
Stupid and unnecessary jargon that people use at work
northernboy replied to Kthebean's topic in General Discussions
I recently had to attend a "conference" entitled "Growing Customers, Growing You" All I could think of was Alan Partridge... "A-ha!" -
I can also confirm the speed at which 2202020 was answered when I called (on two occasions) - first rate response, plus they dealt with my problem in a very efficient way. With this being just a 'normal' phone number it may have cost me more than 10p (or maybe less, depending on the time of day!) - so I think the 'new' number is a "good thing".

Eurovision song contest 2006 Mega Thread
northernboy replied to ANGELUS's topic in Entertainment Chat
I think it's got a chance of doing quite well in Eurovision, as the backing track was clearly "inspired by" Where Is The Love (Black Eyed Peas), which was 'quite' popular... -
Ridiculous bus gate - meadowhead
northernboy replied to commuter's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Totally agree! I don't think there can be any sensors to detect buses, or they are not working properly - often my bus can sit at a red light for several minutes. I don't think there's any chance of going back to the old road layout now, the best we can hope for is that they 'tinker' with the timings of the lights to improve traffic flow. -
I kept wondering if it was real or fictional. The new employee who turned out to be Othello world champion?! - (or "Offello or whatever, bloody Shakespeare world champion" as the boss described him) And why on earth did the owners of the business agree to being filmed for this - did they really think they would come out of it looking good?

Jack Johnson - the most underrated artist currently?
northernboy replied to Leigh's topic in Entertainment Chat
I thought his performance at the Brits was fantastic. After all those overblown performances with hundreds of people on stage (e.g. Kanye West - even KT Tunstall had a "tribe" of dancers behind her), Jack Johnson just sat there with his guitar and showed what a real musician can do! -
Do you use another name other than your birth name?
northernboy replied to spyro2000's topic in General Discussions
Loads of people in my family are known by names other than their first name. Off the top of my head, we have Ellen Jane known as Jennie William known as Tom John known as Marcus William known as Francis Elizabeth known as Ann It's flipping confusing at times! -
The Chesterfield Rd / Abbey Lane lights are on.
northernboy replied to CELCAD's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Well, the bus gate really improved my journey into work yesterday... NOT! I caught the bus by Graves Park and we set off down Meadowhead, reached the 'new' lights... and sat in the bus lane for about 5 minutes at a red light, while all the cars sped past cos their light was green. What exactly do Streetforce think they have achieved with this scheme? -
"KXWSS" stamped on key - any ideas?
northernboy replied to northernboy's topic in General Discussions
that looks like it! Fantastic - thank you!!! -
We recently found an old key with the following inscription : KXWSS opened June 13th 1905 Miss A Pope This may be a long shot but does anyone have any idea what KXWSS could possibly be? Tried Google but not had any luck. I was wondering if KX could be King's Cross? Any ideas? Thanks.

Haven't had it done to my house, but the guy who writes the building/DIY advice column in the Sunday Telegraph is strongly against it - something to do with it drawing in moisture from outside the house leading to increased moisture/possible damp on the interior of the walls.

From the photo in the paper, it looks like the couple in South Yorks were not just "feeding the birds", but dumping huge amounts of bread every day (several buckets full) which was causing a health hazard - even so, the "sting" response does seem a bit OTT.

Anyone got any idea what Streeforce are trying to do now? They seem to be digging up the new bus priority lane (with the traffic lights that have never worked!) - have they had a re-think and decided it was just too dangerous as it was? I've lost count of the number of accidents I've seen here since the "new" road layout was installed! -
Planned NRQ will be a white elephant - prediction.
northernboy replied to asbo's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I'm curious that you quote 1500 new parking spaces - from the info I've seen, the new John Lewis car park will have 2000 spaces on its own. Or has something changed? -
I can recommend Baldersons on Woodseats, they really did a fantastic job for me. (By the way, does every estate agency on Woodseats have to start with the letter 'B'?)

First Class Degree- Cant get a job
northernboy replied to westons's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
I too had a 1st from Sheffield (in a different subject) and came across the obstacle of not having any 'experience'. In the end I took a lower paid job and worked my way up in the company, becoming a manager a few years later - something I could have done without my qualification (although I don't regret my time at Uni for one second)
