I'm glad I put this thread on now. Felt a bit stupid at first but you do feel there's only yourself feeling this way. Right now though feeling Rock Bottom. Be glad to get out the other side.

So, I've never been in this situation before. Been on my own on Christmas day. Don't know yet how it will effect me. Just going through splitting up, she will go to her mums with stepson I assume. My kids already staying with my 1st ex for day. Anyone else ever been there, done that and got a tee shirt.

Yeah, bream early morning n roach in day. I got hooked on it 3 years ago. Got a smaller boat this time which water levels permitting will go under potter heigham, would like a go on hinckling broads this time.

Was you on a boat on the broads? I'm off agin in august, love it, but you'll not get ant fishing like that. Dam flask is always worth a go if you can find them.

Does anyone about access and fishing at laneham. I've never fished it there but heard its good. Don't want to have walk far and don't want to be driving around looking early in morning. I know from experience some of lanes on trent look like peoples drives if you don't know where your going.

Fishing the trent once n old fellow above me did the same, coughed n his false teeth flew out. Comic below waited 5 mins then put his own false teeth on line and shouted up to other guy "look what I've just caught". Looking surprised the lad upstream wandered down past me to him and said let's have a look. Sticks them in his mouth, took em out "nah not mine mate, they're too big" then slung them in the river.

Nancy's is above Westwood. I'm told there is another down from it, but don't know anything about it.

I heard about the one at barlborough golf course lately, I never knew it existed. It is apparently private and costs £200 to join then £100 every year after that. there is also a waiting list according to the forum I saw it on..

Its the old ecclesfield WMC which is now derelict. just past the new Aldi and turn left at T junction opposite the indian restaurant, club carpark on right. Pond is behing club. And its stuffed with fish.

Anyone fished Lodge farm Lilly recently or know of any recent results. On there this sunday and not fished for a bit so any info would help.

Don't know what it's like nowadays but upto 15 years ago we used to go on the river till where if you fell lucky you'd get big tench and big bream.

I did ok, but sometimes fishing a place blind makes a difference. I took some worm I had left over and it did the job, couldn't catch down the sides though with pellet or meat. All on chopped worm at about 7m

Nice little 3 hour session, easy fishing. About 12 small carp,3 big trout, plenty of IDE n perch, a few skimmers and 2 cracking roach, best just short of 2lb. Well worth sitting in the drizzle.

Might av a couple of hours this afternoon. Does anyone know what this pond is like and is it the one you can just see from the main road as you come off the motorway onto the slip road?
