Does anyone know a company that fits wooden tri fold garage doors to replace old ones? I have been looking for ages and found PVC/glass ones but I only want a small glass pannel at the top of the door not majority. The only company I can find so far that do what I am looking for are in the USA!! Is this the sort of thing a joiner would be able to do? Help!!

I've recently moved into a new property and have been meaning to get the boiler checked out as there was a funny smell from the hall radiator when the heating was on and our hot water supply was a bit hit and miss. It looks a fairly new combi boiler, I'd say no more than 4 to 5 years old. I got it checked out this week and the service cost £95.00 is that about right? Anyway much to my annoyance that night there was still no hot water in the upstairs hot taps although there had been in the day time when the engineer was here. I called him back out and he had a proper look this time and has quoted £230 parts and labour. I don't want to get ripped off here as I don't have a clue about boiler etc but should the engineer have checked this out when he serviced the boiler in the first place especially as I had told him there was a problem? He reckons the switch is going that switches on to heat the water? Any help, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The engineer has given me his gas safe number for the company appears which in order.

Hi just wondering if anyone knows of any house removal companies for a small house move from Sheffield to Dronfield. Looking at moving next Friday (28th Aug) the ones we had had quotes from and wanted to book don't have any people to move us!!!

Unfortunately the buyers mortgage company is holding a retention of 3 grand of their mortgage until the work is completed that has been picked up on the survey. I can't trust my estate agent as I am sure they work on commison with the damp company they 'advised' our buyers to send round. I had one done 3 years ago when I moved in but it was a company from North Yorkshire and they recommended some work but nothing serious and this was rectified, I have not had any problems or anything since so when I got a quote of £1000 I was gob smacked I am aware of a slight problem starting in the kitchen but like I say nothing major:huh:

The house has been sold and the buyers surveyor has picked up on it, our buyers are wanting to go 50/50 on the work that needs doing but the quote we have been given is ridiculous even I can see that and I don't know anything about damp and timber reports, I know they are pulling a fast one!! Just wanting a second opinion
