  1. Demolition of 900 homes at Parson Cross is well under way and Parson Cross College (the former Colley School and Saint Peters School) is due to follow. Does anyone know what the future building plans are for the area ?
  2. Gray's Motorcycles were there, after they left Bridge Street Bus Terminus.
  3. I hope that people like you will take time out to visit Parson Cross and record pictures of housing in the vacinity of Buchanan Road, Adlington Road and Deerlands Avenue etc., before it's too late. The demolision of around 900 council houses has now started and kids in a few years time will have no idea of how the place was in the 20th Century. I wish someone could tell me what the future plans are for the large areas of emptyness that will be left behind.
  4. I can assure you that Fletcher's bread, much of it under Supermarket own label, was delivered to Regional Distribution Centres by 0600 on Saturday 1st January 2005. It's the quality that counts. Please support your local workforce and economy.
  5. It's called Alltools because it sells all tools A L L T O O L S
  6. I always keep a loaf in the freezer. It has to be thawed out slowly so I put it in the fridge the night before I need it.
  7. Ollerenshaw, Holding, Brightmore, Tindall, Burgin, Mellor.
  8. Sentence both parents AND child to several hours unpaid community service such as litter picking and graffiti removal etc. But the problem is catching them and proving the case against them beyond any reasonable doubt.
  9. Ecclesfield used to be a nice watering hole with the Greyhound, Ball Inn, Black Bull, Tankard, White Bear, Arundel and Travellers. Surprised to see that the Tankard is now the Stocks and the Griffin has closed to become some sort of office.
  10. Fletchers Bakeries are still going strong from their premises on Claywheels Lane at Wadsley Bridge in Sheffield. Since 1999 they have been wholly owned by ***Northern Foods and employ over 700 people on the site, producing a wide range of fresh and frozen bread, rolls and speciality bakery products, including burger buns, muffins, doughnuts and scones. Many products are produced under various Supermarket's own labels, so you could well be still enjoying Fletchers produce without realising it. Although the small door to door vans have long since gone, Fletchers now operate a large fleet of articulated trucks, making bulk deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres all over the country, for onward dispatch to the supermarkets. ***Northern Foods also owned Barchelors from 1986 to 2003.
