  1. Mighty Sheffield Wednesday V Birmingham City 21/8/12. 1945 hours, Tuesday evening. The Mighty Wednesday start the Championi season at Hillsborough with an evening kick-off against Birmingham City. Both teams come off the back of draws, Brum drew 1-1 against Charlton and the Mighty Heroes of Hillsborough fought back in the second half to secure a well deserved 2-2 point at Derby. (Such a gallant & glorious fight back). So we now have the makings of a very interesting, very difficult, evenly matched, mid-table clash between Mighty Wednesday in 11th place and Brum in 12th. (Many Mighty Wednesday fans would be happy with their current league position come May 2013 - well away from any kind of relegation dogfight.) Birmingham City last visited Hillsborough in January 2009. It ended in a 1-1 draw after Brum equalised in the 90th minute. On previous visits, Brum won 3-0 in 2006 and 1-0 in 2001. No matches are easy when you are part of the Championi-ship. (The only Championi side in the whole of Sheffield) It will be a fantastic night if Mighty Wednesday can add 3 Mighty Points to their 50 Mighty Points Crusade. Sheffield Wednesday - A Mighty Team with Mighty Fans. . . .
  2. I know what you mean Longy . . . . . .
  3. I'm a big fan of the Wilson / McCabe dynamic duo. . . .
  4. Condolences. You lucky person. . . .
  5. The Mighty Wednesday should get out of all cup competitions as soon as possible and concentrate on the league. They've drawn Fulham dammit . . . The last time that The Mighty Wednesday played Fulham in the League Cup (or Milk Cup) was at Hillsborough in 1984. The Heroes of Hillsborough won 3-2. Damn . . .
  6. I fully understand. On reflection, that's probably a wise Owl decision . . . . . . most former unitedites do find it difficult to handle such a large amount of excitement (rather than excrement) in one 90 minute session. . . .
  7. I love it when closet Mighty Wednesdayites decide to come out . . . . . . See you both at Hillsborough next Tuesday night . . .
  8. Don't tell anyone... but I was very concerned during the 1st half. I did want Mighty Wednesday to loose and concentrate on the league but I didn't want the humiliation that I enjoyed at Bramall Lane. So... You've heard about Alex the hairdryer - well at half time there was a dressing room performance by Dave Jones the erupting volcano. Dammit The Mighty won . . .
  9. Ask your Doctor for Mighty Wednesday . . . . . . That's the best medicine for most fans. . . .
  10. All dreams are possible - miracles at Bramall Lane just take longer. . . .
  11. Think of me as an angel. When people are sick, I like to comfort them. They wanted me as Admin. "Geoff" I said, "You're offering me a quarter of what I get paid in America." . . .
  12. You will always get friendly sniping in any football loving City. It should be welcomed with open arms - particularly whenever one side is playing with a lot of Mightyness and the other side is looking like a pub team in the Sunday League. . . .
  13. Sorry that I did not answer you... Yes - I was at Boundary Park. Yes - I was at Bramall Lane - as an Albion supporter. Yes - All Sheffielders should watch Mighty Wednesday because the football at Hillsborough is more exciting than Bramall Lane. . . .
  14. As most of you lot know, I'm an expert on football . . . . . . second only to Paul Thompson of The Sheffield Star. My prediction is a goalfest at Derby. I also predict a riot. (I gave Ricky Wilson that idea). . . .
  15. I go to numerous games and fortunately, in the case of united, I don't have to pay for admission. . . .
  16. I'm glad you disagree. That's what debate is all about. . . .
  17. Mighty Sheffield Wednesday are very, very naughty. I instructed them to loose - get out of any cup runs and avoid injury. It seems that Mighty Wednesday have forgotten how to loose. . . .
  18. Seriously folks . . . I would willingly loose this game if it gives a Mightier Wednesday for the Championi-ship. We may need to make sacrifices . . . . . . Can you hear me Dave Jones . . .
  19. Sad but true - I left at half time. . . .
  20. An excellent observation if I may say so. "Let's face it" - but some people just cannot face reality They rely on sly tactics. Jaklev come to Hillsborough for some excitement. . . .
  21. Oldham V The Mighty Wednesday. Capital One League Cup first round. 1945 Monday 13 August 2012. Oldham boss Paul Dickov has a fully-fit squad to choose from. Blackburn loanee Jordan Slew is set for his debut. Lee Croft is available after joining on loan from Derby. Sheffield Wednesday will be without midfielder Chris Lines, who is out for at least eight weeks after suffering a groin strain. Wednesday have no other fitness concerns ahead of Monday's game.
