  1. I'm looking for David Dearden of Entrust Electricians Dore. The company no longer appears to exist - or at least the web site & phone numbers don't. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you.
  2. Tonight 25th February a little Westie bitch with an injured leg on Bradley Street in Crookes...just sat in the street wearing a little pink collar. We tried to carry her into the house but she took fright, jumped and skittered off down the road surprisingly fast given the bad leg. I pulled out some gorse/thorn bush from her back legs before she went...I hope she knew where she was going and wasn't lost....I'd like to know she's OK.
  3. I was thinking...why has it been raining here and not over by the main stage...
  4. Well, the event was great it was just a pity that walking around and sitting was so crunchy and slushy. I think people would have hoisted their rubbish into skips if they could have....
  5. I enjoyed the music but the environment was just awful by early evening. It was as if a tornado had ripped through the local tip. There were a few rubbish collectors poking around with sticks picking up the odd crisp bag whilst being almost shin high in detritus. Why the council didn't put skips in the major locations I don't know. It really was gross and when leaving Devonshire Green at 9 o'clock I paddled through the urine running from the toilets......
  6. Very clever. made me laugh this. Tres humoristique et rigolo LeMaquis
  7. Yes - That would be great. I am not sure there would be enough take up for themes/director seasons although supplementing the efforts of The Paramount (and they have improved....) with non mainstream cinema would be welcome. Where would you show the films..?
  8. Not sure if this has been posted but 'Curl Up and Dye' - Hairdressers on South Road in Walkley
  9. I know! Shirt, tie and quality v necked sweater (not baggy...cashmere if you can) and good trousers. That is very French....
  10. Tee hee. Well, you could go in drag. Otherwise, hmm, if it is casual-ish then go for a simple black crew neck top and black jeans/trousers. Still the thing even 60 years after left-bank intellectuals (circa J-P Sartre) popularised the look...
  11. 'Little black dress' - style Coco Chanel. Simple and with minimum jewellery.
  12. What about Paul Jewell - without a job for two years and more proven than his predecessor ever was..... Should be judged on his football merits which apart from the thankless task at Hillsborough, has been pretty impressive particularly in respect of the Championship to Premier league jump.... Some of the names currently being bandied about are a joke.
  13. Too right. Next time I'll leave that blanket on the windscreen - the one I use to keep the frost off.
  14. There I was, jumping in the car at dawn to drive from Pensitone to Cambridge on Saturday morning. No snow and ice! Waited til 7.00 so as not to drive in the dark. Got to the A1/A14 area and started travelling due East. The sun had got up and was absolutely beautiful. Blazing through the mist. Unfortunately, it started to impair vision to the point where I could hardly see a thing. Bumbled on a bit, at slower speed, visor down but sun too low to make a difference. Saw a bloke on the verge..or rather a yellow hasard jacket, I couldn't see any detail, wondered what he was doing there, ..then, with 30 yards to spare, a crashed van sideways across the lane. Swerved to avoid it and then swerved again to avoid the other van he had crashed into. This must be the closest I have come to having a major crash in 20 years of driving. Maybe I should have known better than to drive due East at dawn in winter on a cloudless morning but it would be worth bearing in mind if you are planning a journey into the sun on a bright crisp winter morning, visibility was practically nil. Worse than the worst fog I have ever driven in. Put sunglasses in the cab....:0
  15. Well, it was the first time I had gone and they couldn't do enough for me. Great they were. Fella was really into sea and fly fishing. It is a real shame that the shop has shut down.
