Sharkeys is always THE place to go on any night of the week. If funk and soul brings out the Gloria Gaynor in you then Mondays with DJ Mr. Mercer is definitely for you. Aural Pleasures( Tuesdays) Comon Ground (Wednesdays) and so on... are all worth checking out! Sharkeys - great drinks at even greater prices - HEAVEN!!!

How far along is she? Because I would always recommend going to Sharkeys where all the barmen are worth checking out and the DJ would never fail to give a very special mention of anyone who is out celebrating! Takapuna is worth going to just to witness all the trannies on VIP nights. Definitely worth some laughs. For a meal why not try some of the really cool Tapas restaurants for a quite meal ie; Cubana, La Mancha and Tequila - my personal fav is Tequila (West Street). You could also have more fun and laughs by hiring one of those party fire trucks with very fine "firemen". Have fun

Lucid closed down not to bankruptcy - although the real reason may have caused it! Lucid in fact was found to not complying with the law when they hired their staff....let's just leave it at that. (This is the same staff who ID all of us at the door and at the bar! It makes me wish I had asked to see their NI card....)

Does anyone else agree in that the city centre - The Moor, Fargate etc is a complete dump? There is no logical layout to the stores - I mean why put Oasis hidden down Chapel Walk and some tacky outlet for Miss Sixty smack bang in the centre??? It's ridiculous having to go all the way to Meadowhall for shops like West One, River Island and H&M. As the government seems so keen on digging up all the roads that quite frankly should be left alone why don't they put taxpayers money into fixing up the shops ? It's about time something was done!

Best late night places are Tequila, Takapuna and possibly Casbah - but avoid the last place on Thursdays. Total dive!!!! Friday nights at Tequila is soulphisticated night - greats election of music. Great food and comfortable atmsophere. £1 after 10pm.

I went to Ruby Lounge last week and I was shocked to find how desolate and unfriendly the bar staff were. It was a Thursday night and there must have only been about five people in there. When I asked for a drinks menu I just got a shrug and a lame response of, " We don't have any". Then the bar staff were showing off their cocktail mixing skills - but to no one!!!! Sharkeys on the other hand is the complete opposite of Ruby. The bar staff are all friendly and if you tip the staff just ten pence then they will remember you for the rest of the night and guarantee you quick service!!! Ruby Lounge is an over-hyped and over priced place!!! £3 for a corona? please!!!!

Best bar in Sheffield? Tequila West Street hands down!!!

Does anyone else find it a bit morbid that Tequila on West Street is the unofficial official pre-Kingdom bar? I mean the former being a classy late night cocktail bar that pretty much lives up to it's reputation and the latter being a meat market that refuses entrance for those who were over dressed? Go in toTequila on Monday nights and witness for yourself - you will be amazed!

Hey Guys Im writing an article on where is the best place for students to live in Sheffield. Anyone living in the city centre or in the hals of residences up in Broomhill? What are the good and bad points of both places? Is the rent cheap? And what are the best pubs or hangouts? Any help is gratefully received. Thanks Debs

I am currently living in Victoria Halls and I have honestly got to say that the bad far outweighs the good. OK so it is en suite, 5 mins away from the union, 1 minute away from west street but that's all there is. THE BAD: 1) £1.50 to use the wasing machines each time and another £1.50 for the dryer. 2) Very rude staff 3)My flat received a £112 for JANUARY when most of us were not even back from Christmas break!!! The staff still have not explained why it is this much! 4) the caretakes let themselves into the flat with no pior announcement 5) When I moved in i found certan lightbulbs missing and the water pipes were loosened so that the water constantly dripped - not a big deal at first but seeing as the water bil is combined with the electricity bill, it is pretty obvious that Victoria Hall is ... edited.
