  1. Calling all Artists’, Photographers, Sculptor’s, Designers, Printers - anyone with artistic flair maybe we could help each other? On one of my short term lettings in Sheffield I am looking to add a unique feature.. The idea is for the guests, to not only have a luxurious, and competitively priced stay, but to get them talking and have a reminder of the visit forever (your work). For YOU it is a way of promoting what you do and an opportunity to maybe make some extra money? The amounts of guests each month will only be at max 40 people so don’t expect to make millions. A couple of hundred quid is I feel achievable and even better than that the feeling that somebody you don’t know also likes what you do. I want to offer the whole property or a room in it to you as your own private gallery on a monthly guest artist(s) basis. The visitors will no doubt have enjoyed their stay so much; they will want a memento of the visit! Each month we will produce a basic catalogue with details of the work, artist, and price which will be available to the guests. We will offer the guests the option of if they want it, just to take it home with them. We have their Credit card details from their booking and the piece will be charged with any other extra’s and the funds paid to you from us. We will charge a standard fee much as any other gallery. If nothing sells you get them back! All work must be hangable on the walls when it gets to us. This could be the 1 millionth or the VERY FIRST time your works has been on show. As long as the work is good quality it will be considered. You could be doing something off the wall in A-Level art or water colours in your dotage. If you fancy giving it a go please get in touch. I would be particularly interested in anything which has a link with the city of Sheffield or surrounding area. ANYONE? Contact me by email on david@isproperties.co.uk - some pictures of your work attached ensures a speedy reply.
  2. I grew up in Hackenthorpe and am now a letting agent with properties in this area. Its a great area. Many of the residents have been there since it was built and many of the properties have been bought off the council and are privately owned. Most of the people are friendly and down to earth. there may be a few houses with bad eggs in but before moving to a house have a look at the neighbours or even knock on the doors and meet them first. If your going to have a problem it will be down to a individual bad neighbour rather than the general area. Id rather live on Delves with genuine people than the posher Moorthorpe.
  3. Im not on here to start an argument. In a way it was a way of publicly displaying my pride in my wife by letting the world know about her business. For info - All bags are unique as they are hand painted to each client. So no copies. The idea did indeed come from others already doing it. Some people prefer others designs some prefer my wives. That's the way the world is. Good luck to everybody. My wife would say she is shy and lacks a bit of confidence in her own (I think fantastic) abilities. I hope it may inspire others to give their own projects a go, you never know where it may lead. If any positive people need any help/advice please get in touch. Negative people need not apply. :):)
  4. Thanks for seeing the joke! I was worried I was about to upset some online nutter. Yeah any pointers from the kids are welcomed!
  5. You must have a really talented 6 old! Must take after its mum!
  6. I went to the one in Retford last year by the same comp. It was chilled out, bands were good, and it wasn't a rip off.
  7. I totally agree re the jobs etc but unfortunately it will mean more litter about. Thats not Mc'd fault I know but the idiots that don't bin it. I once read that a couple of % of all litter in the UK is theirs.
  8. Good idea. We currently get pics sent through by email or FB but you are right it would be simpler on the site. We will get on it. ---------- Post added 14-06-2013 at 20:43 ---------- Cheers my friend she does some cracking ones with people in football shirts as well. Shes not into footie and has done bags for both blades and Wednesday and other football teams supporters. I however am defo with you in terms of teams.
  9. My wife started one this year and its going great. Just do it. If you worry about everything or you will probably never start. see http://www.bellesbagsnbows.com/ Have a look at this. Business started this year from kitchen table by sheffield mum of three. She already has celeb clients as well as loads of local ones. She would descibe herself as a normal mum and wife. I think shes amazing! And for the sake of transparency and because Im proud Im glad shes my wife! __________________

  11. My wife has been selling knitted dolls which her and her mum make themselves. We are now at the point where we may need help making them and wondered if anybody would be interested in being paid to knit these dolls. She is also maybe looking at people to help her paint her bags. her bag business is www.bellesbagsnbows.com
  12. As an agent myself the first objection is cost! How much would you need to charge for these videos? If you included this in your marketing then for every house you put on your upfront costs have just gone up further. The other option is selling it to clients as an extra. The general trend from sellers however are to go with the agent charging the least and to pay as little as possible upfront. However I do think that some clients would appreciate it and if you ever want tp chat about it further your more than welcome to get in touch.
  13. My advice would be start your search on somewhere like rightmove/zoopla. Book in to have a look at the houses. If the house is maintained well this is a sign of the landlords looking after the place. Even better if the house is currently tenanted have a quick word with the tenants about how good the agent and landlord are!
  14. Thank you caz27. Bloomdido please inbox me if your one of our clients you shouldn't be feeling like that. Lets see what we can do to give you a "boost"!
  15. I do understand. However a landlord should be checking that you are credit worthy and have a good track record renting property etc. I'm sure your fine but some are not and my first reaction to somebody who maybe doesn't want to be checked out is that they may be hiding something. We keep our application fees as low as possible @ £120 for the first applicant and £75 for any further tenants and £50 for guarantors and we have many people expressing relief at our lower than average fees. Good luck in finding a property.
