I used to play football inbetween some houses on Gloucester St in the early sixties

I went there in 57, remember Miss Moseley, Mr Wiggott. People in my class were Neil Armstrong ,Malcolm Silverwood, Kath Foster, Helen Burgin ,Janet Morton to name a few. I was in Welbeck house, great times !

My uncle Alf Timms worked there in the 50s, 60s and 70s. It used to be called Kenyon Brothers before Barworth Flockton.

I used to play for that Derek Dooley side in the mid sixties as a 15 year old,the team was called Birley Amateurs Our home pitch was at the top of Bunting Nook on Matthews Lane,anyone else play for them around that time. Halcyon days !!
