  1. Hello, I am in need of hiring an automatic car for three days towards the end of next week. Can anyone recommend a place I should contact? Many thanks, Andrew
  2. Can anyone help? I have a friend who is organising a school production of Bugsy Malone in the Manor area. Performance is Tuesday 12th July. They need some brass instruments to mime with, preferably including a trombone. I have a battered old trumpet and a clarinet. But does anyone have (or know of any) any other brass instruments that can be borrowed just for the day? As I said, they are not for playing, just for miming with during the performance. Any instruments would be much appreciated and I would be happy to pick them up and return them. Many thanks for reading this. Andrew Wooding andrewwooding (at) hotmail (dot) com
  3. By the way, just seen a typo in my title. Should be: help! not held.
  4. Hello, I've been without use of my car radio for a couple of months now due to a breakdown. Once it was fixed, my radio wouldn't start without a code. But my dealer never gave me one. I've found a couple of websites that promise to provide codes, but I'm suspicious as they want my card details so I can pay them. Anyone got any recommendations? It's a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, but that doesn't necessarily tell you the type of radio. Andrew
  5. Hi, I'm one of the folks behind the Sheffield-based ghost-hunting blog, Two Men and a Ghost: http://twomenandaghost.blogspot.com/ We've been going for just over a year and haven't found a thing! So we're asking if other people have had ghost encounters, even if they just send us a sentence or two. Best story received by the end of August will be turned into a comic strip by Mike Kazybrid, Sheffield artist who is currently drawing Wallace and Gromit for The Sun. You can either reply here, reply at the blog, or send us an email at: twomenandaghost@hotmail.com Thanks! Andrew
  6. For haunted spots in Sheffield, check out: http://twomenandaghost.blogspot.com The world's worst ghost hunters visit purported haunted spots in Sheffield, and blog about their experiences, using cartoons and humour. As featured on Rony Robinson's and Gareth Edward's shows on Radio Sheffield, and written up twice in The Star. Andrew
  7. Are you sure? I didn't have to pay a penny. Completely free to upload anything you want. Lots of kids upload comics they've made! If you sell anything, they take a percentage above merchandising costs, but if you sell nothing, you lose nothing.
  8. Brilliant! I'll add this to the list of places we want to visit. Andrew
  9. Hope it's okay to plug a new blog on here. Me and my friend Mike - both of us involved in the comics industry - are going to spend the next year or two visiting various purported haunted sites in and around Sheffield, and writing about our experiences. We know nothing about ghost-hunting, so it feels like we're setting off on a journey into the unknown, not knowing where it will lead us. Would love people to read and comment on the blog entries, share their stories, or give us ideas of where to visit. The blog is called Two Men and a Ghost - it's light-hearted but also serious in intent, if the two are not mutually contradictory: twomenandaghost.blogspot.com We were written up in The Star last week, and interviewed by Gareth Evans on the Saturday Breakfast show on Radio Sheffield. Thanks! Andrew Wooding
  10. I'm new to this forum and had a quick look round but can't see any info on people in Sheffield who are comic writers. Anyone here? Is there a support group, or any exciting projects in the pipeline? Andrew
  11. Have you tried browsing for DVDs on Amazon? Next time you visit, it remembers what you were looking at and recommends other DVDs you might like. Andrew
  12. I self-published last year on lulu.com. Very pleased with them, and it doesn't cost a penny. If you only sell one book, that's fine! But hopefully you'll sell many more. My parents live in America, so they ordered my book from the American site, no problem. Only cost is if you want to buy an ISBN number, and they take a commission on every book sold. Andrew
  13. Someone's already mentioned it, but I can't recommend lulu.com enough. Easy to use and doesn't cost a penny, unless you want to pay for an ISBN code. Andrew
  14. Just joined the Sheffield Forum and found this thread. I once wrote and performed in a revue at the Brighton Festival, but that was a looooong time ago. Would love to get my hand in again. How can I get involved? Andrew
