  1. I was born in 1957 and went to Bradway then Jordanthorpe. My first teacher was Miss Hopkinson (the red headed one?) then Miss Reid and Mr Brown. We had an art teacher for a time called Miss Jagger (did nobody marry?) and she had a thing with Brown, well that was the rumour. I captained the rounders and football teams and we had alot of fun playing other schools. I remember playing rounders once against Woodseats at their school and we had to put a fielder down the cellar steps who couldnt see a thing!!! We played Harold Jackson school at rounders in their first ever game against another school and the sports teacher, a Mr Hughes told us to declare because our batting score was too much!!! That was the summer of 68. Great days
  2. You may be aware that there alot of roads named after the Crawshaw family in the Beauchief area of Sheffield, namely Crawshaw avenue and Crawshaw Road. There are also a couple of roads in Dronfield that carry the same name. The Crawshaw's were big land owners in the these areas and indeed the house I live originally paid a ground rent to the Crawshaw family. I hope this may be of some use. Tony
  3. You need to have a business plan. In other words your target market, your investment projections, and your yearly growth targets. It is sometimes better to start modestly with a small investment and try to build a customer base. If you are in a safe job in the current climate and you are undecided what to do next, the answer is to stay where you are until you are absolutely sure.
  4. Sheffield Business man is looking to invest in new and start up companies. If you feel you have a good idea but no investment, then forward me details. Any investment would be upon an equity percentage basis.
  5. I`m still in Sheffield. I started a building business soon after Argentina and it did very well, and continues to do ok. I live in Bradway, so not too far from the lowedges, my dad still lives on Lowedges Crescent. Do you know what happenend to the other lads from Argentina? Brian Kent, Tony Cornish, Ivor? Whats Thialand like these days? It sounds better than going in the Magpie!
  6. Hello Jeff Tony Crapper here. Remember Argentina in 1981? I hope you are well and in good health.
  7. The Richardsons I knew lived on Lowedges Crescent
  8. I was born on the Lowedges and lived on Atlantic road from 57-65 then Lowedges crescent from 65 - 83. I waent to Bradway school and later Jordanthorpe. I remember the Percival family and knew Kev Percival. The Miller family were remarkable for there ginger hair and number of kids. the Spooners and the Sambrooke's and the Balls and Richardsons were all well known. Who remembers Jimmy Wayne who lived behind the Magpie? I noticed that alot of you talked about Haggis on previous threads, but who remembers Beverly Wallage who died in the early eighties and was either married or lived with Haggis. She was a lovely lady. Who remembers Dave Murfin? He lived behind the Magpie and was a quiet if slightly shy guy. Who would have thought he would end up a double murderer after a night of madness? Names and more names. Anyone remember Maxine McCourt? She was in my class at school and then just disappeared.
