  4. Hi Can someone remind me what the car service is called where you pick a car up,drive to your destination and deposit it? Its not quite the same as hiring ut similar. It saves you the hassel of owning your own car. I keep seeing the cars about town, they have a sign on the side a caption bubble, green I think, with the company name in it.

  12. I've read that miso is really good for you so went out and bought some paste. The trouble is the lady in the chinese supermarket said 'you just drink it' (it doesn't look like you just drink it, its solid!) I asked about making soup or how long it lasted after being opening but she didin't know. Does any one know any receips or have info on what to do woth my tub of miso brown paste? There isn't any english on the labelling either. Thanks

  15. Oh dear...I've invested far too much time on this allotment and have planted lots of stuff, I'd hate to have to give it up now. Took your advice and called the Council who said that they will send a 'Ranger' to clear it. Its sound pretty bad stuff from what you've said Rossyrooney is it likley that I could have caused myself harm already? Whats the chances of it making me ill, don't mean to be paronoid. I'll let you know how long it takes the council to visit. Thanks for for help. Im really worried now.
  16. While digging and clearing my new allotment, I discovered a sheet of MDF board, when I smashed through it I found loads of broken up sheets of asbestos buried beneth. I know you are not suppose to disturb asbestos but its too late, there is loads of it does anyone know how harmful it is in this state, if the council will remove it and if it contaminates the surrounding soil? I really don't kow what to do...Any advice? Tnaks
  17. Have friends coming into Sheffield for a week. They want to go out alone as well as with a group. West St on a whole I like but they felt it was far too young. On thier last visit I took them to the re-opened Henrys, they were appaulled to say the least, tried Browns which was half of full of work folk having a late meal and drinks, we didnt even stay for a drink. I like Trippets, we visited, but on that particulary Friday night there was no-one else there. I'm obviously out of touch, what does Sheffield have to offer that I just don't knnow about?
  18. Thanks all...feel better about that. Don't mean to be a thicko but once the weedkiller has taken affect in say 2-3months can I just turnover the soil and use it next year then? Or do I have to take out the dead weeds. Bear with me I'm a newbie
  19. I'm looking for advice on where a 3yr old could learn to play an musical instrument. I don't mean the 'Rocking Horse' type groups, but actual tuition on say piano, keyboard, recorder...group or one-to-one sessions. Anyone know of anywhere in Sheffield?
  20. Oh no. Well i've had a read through the Sheffield Councils Allotment guide online and they say to use it too. I don't know what to do now. It does make sense though, not using it. What now?????? Don;t want to feed the family contamintaed veg. Do other people use it as a matter of course. And how do you clear an allotment without the glyphosate then? Ta
  21. I was recently advised to clear the growth, weeds etc on my allotment with a weedkiller called Glyphosate. I've covered most of it in the weedkiller only to notice that on the small sachet it reads ' do not use this weedkiller on areas you intend to grow vegetation' now I'm really worried that I won't be able to grow any veg safely (if at all) on my allotment. Any advice please
