  1. Hi, does anyone know of any Sheffield bars that have live music on for 8th January 2015 please? Preferably something along the lines of jazz, soft blues, pop music.
  2. Thank you for your reply. I've spoken with the managers at Mickley Hall already and am hoping to go there as soon as funding is sorted. The bar is an added bonus I didn't know about!
  3. Thanks for the details of that place, I'll follow it up tomorrow and let you know how I get on. Thanks
  4. Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately I've not managed to get anywhere with it still but thank you all for your help
  5. Does anyone know of any respite care centres for people with long term physical impairments that offer private short respite stays? I've gone round and round in circles trying to find information from 'official channels' that I thought would be able to help. All it acheived was high telephone bills as all the numbers are 0845! That old chestnut! Would be really greatful for any help/advice Many Thanks.
  6. I think he might be settling in more now and is in more of a routine with his food as he's not pooped in the house for a few days now. When he did poop he had only been in the house an hour and he's actually done as well whilst I've still been in the house. We make sure he's walked and defnitely done his business before we leave him and now someone's coming into walk him. I'm hoping he's sorted now. Thanks for the advice and tips.
  7. Thanks for advice. I'll try puppy pads and if that fails I'll get him walked on the days I'm at work.
  8. Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if or how a small dog can be trained to use a litter tray. He's a new dog to us and hasn't fully settled yet and has been having a poo in the lounge when I'm at work. Any tips/advice would be most appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hi, At Bakewell fayre in May I met a lady who knits teddies out of dog hair. I've collected enough dog hair and can unfortunately not get anymore as my dog was put to sleep on Monday. I'm struggling to contact the lady from Bakewell. Does anyone know of anyone else that does this? Thanks
  10. Thanks Everyone for your ideas and suggestions, I'll definitely look into them.
  11. Thanks for your ideas, suggestions and contacts, I'll give them a try. Many thanks again, much appreciated.
  12. I was thinking of helping at lunch clubs or with home visits to people but if that doesn't work I'll try the charity shops, thanks.
  13. Hi, I'm looking for some temporary voluntary work, preferably with older adults. If anyone knows of any volunteering opportunities please pm me, thanks:)
  14. Thanks for the link, I'll have a look at that. Rupert Baerh, I'm sorry to hear your wife had a similar incident, I agree with your view on compensation, but it goes to show that hotels really need to address their disabled facilities. I'm gald the hotel fixed the problem immediately. I think the hotel where I had the accident are looking into it after I sent a second email and chased it up with phone calls. They said I will hear from head office so I will wait and see. I think the problem is that because we are the minority group of people who use hotels that they think they can get away with providing less up to scratch facilities than those for fully abled poeple. I hope that my complaint has an outcome similar to yours so that poeple who need the disabled facilities in future will be safer.
  15. I notified the main reception but the reception man just smiled at us and said thank you. He jotted a couple of notes on a scrap piece of paper but it wasn't put in the accident book. Thanks for you advice. Ive spoken to someone at the hotel now who seems to know what she is doing, she took more details and she said Head Office will contact me so we'll see what happens. thanks
