  1. Just a quick update, still smoke free - last cig was 30/12/2009. Best thing I ever did !!
  2. Hiya, lovely to see you back posting, and great news on the quitting, just about a month or so less than me. I remember you from when we were both a bit more active on this forum. I don't really think much about smoking at all now, hubby has quit too but used the nicorette inhalators, he stopped actually smoking 7 years ago this month - but - only managed to rid himself of the inhalators about 6 months ago as he still needed that nicotine kick! He's still suffering to be honest. Champix certainly made it a lot easier for me!
  3. Well done, I am into my 8th year now, as last smoked in December 2009! Well done quitters, keep going x
  4. Well, pleased to say that I am still smoke free and loving it!!
  5. Well, I totally forgot about this forum, and only stumbled across it again by accident. I will be 6 years smoke free at the end of this year. Hope all other quitters are doing just as well x
  6. Hi Woodsmoke, I forgot my password unfortunately and had to reset it! Its lovely to see you back here again, I too have completed my 4th Anniversary and don't really miss the smoking at all now. I am going to scroll back through and see if I can find any other names I recognise, it seems a shame that its not so active now, as I found it a great help when I first quit
  7. Just poppin back to see if there are any of the 'oldies' still about. I have now entered by 4th year of quitting, good luck to all still in their infancy, and it does get better
  8. I was still having those same thoughts and desires up until about a couple of months ago, now I rarely think about it x As you say, there are absolutely no positives whatsoever x
  9. Sorry havent been back in a while to post an update, have had a really bad cold which has come and gone for over a bloomin' month now grrrrr Anyway, I am now smokefree for a year and a week, and I couldn't have done it without Champix and the help I got from this forum, it took me two attempts, first one only last 7 weeks smokefree before I succombed, but this time I was determined. Thanks to all your help guys and for those new Champix-ers, stick at it, go with the flow and you will quit when you are ready, no need to follow the plan to the letter and give up by a certain time, just quit when you feel ready and never give up giving up - you WILL get there x
  10. Hi Karen, I gained about a stone over the year, and will be getting that off in the new year, until then I am going for damage limitation of the Christmas period x
  11. Well, here I am again, feeling guilty about not posting for months and months, but it has been a very busy and hectic few months. Lovely to see so many new names on the forum and also Gemini, Woodsmoke, Lyn and Jabber to name but a few of the oldies. I am still smoke free, and it will be a year in three weeks' time. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. I will be starting next year with a new regime - losing the weight I have gained this year lol. It has been so worth it, and it DID get easier with time, and now I rarely, if ever, think of smoking. I do feel sorry for those that have to stand outside in this freezing weather just to get their "fix". Hang on in there those of you just starting out, it WILL get better for you too x x
  12. Hi guys, glad to see you are still going strong Gem and Lubylou. I am now 7 months (and one week lol) smokefree. I feel fantastic and so glad I tried for the second time. I wouldn't say it was any easier the second time, but I think I was more determined to see it through. I think I failed the first time because I came off the tabs too soon, this time I just went with the flow and gradually cut them out until I kept forgetting, which was about March I think. Keep up the good work guys x
  13. Oh, sorry missed you before you left Gemini, have a great holiday. Wow Jabbers, sounds good to me, you could even quit after all lol. Hope you are all staying strong and enjoying the bank holiday weather - lol x
