  1. If its a Humax box it is very easy. I swapped my hard drive for a solid state one as I found the hard drive a bit noisy. Can't exactly remember what was involved but I think I just swapped the drive and then did a reformat.
  2. Hoyland and Wake Ryan 07539 252006 / Phil 07930 448776 Did the top half of our house. Fantastic job. Really decent lads.
  3. Not at all but inappropriate use of apostrophes is unforgiveable.
  4. God no! Have you heard his commentaries?
  5. Parking on the pavement is not actually an offence in most cases as far as I know.
  6. I parked in the car park the other day to pick someone up and I wasn't very happy to see the free period seemed to have disappeared. However, I left the car park around 20 minutes later and wasn't charged so it seems the free period does still exist - it just isn't advertised as such. Hopefully it will stay like that.
  7. I would think most tyre places will fit these. Hawleys certainly do - they did some for me recently. They are around £80 to £90 each.
  8. I can't help with the OPs problem I'm afraid, but I too have a new Sony TV and have had my own issues with it. We have had a couple of power cuts recently and after each one I have had to do a factory reset to get it to work properly again. The main problem being that BBC iPlayer disappears and the only way to get it back seems to be the factory reset. Doesn't take long to be fair, but annoying nonetheless. If it happens again I may have to consider getting a UPS - which seems a bit OTT! I also have a Humax (Freesat) recorder and it does seem to work reasonably well with the TV - the IR Blaster thing seems to work well to enable the TV remote to work with the Humax box. With this set up, however, I have not found any way of getting the ITV player thing or some of the other on demand services. It's a shame that Sony doesn't support Freesat. I've had Sony TVs for over 30 years but I think this latest purchase has put me off them a little. Picture quality is great however.
  9. I believe that is the case, yes. The weight limit is 10 Tonnes at NGH and the Sikorsky 92 is 8-9 Tonnes I think so that probably makes it unsafe to land there. The air ambulance is less than half that weight.
  10. Nothing wrong with trial and error for problems like this. Slightly easier if you start with 3x, 3(x+1) and 3(x-1) Then you get 27(x-1)(x)(x+1) = 3240 Or (x-1)(x)(x+1) = 120 Slightly easier to then find three consecutive integers that multiply together to give 120, I.e. 4, 5 and 6 (as an earlier poster said in fact) which gives the answer of 12, 15 and 18. My A level students hate questions like this!
  11. Great advice about the credit card. I pay for virtually everything on my credit card and haven't paid a penny in interest for decades . I've had hundreds and hundreds of pounds back in points. I even paid for my last car on my credit card. Had to pay a fee mind, but the points I got back far outweighed the fee.
  12. I used to travel in these aircraft fairly regularly when I worked in the offshore oil industry. Big, noisy and cramped - it did occur to me more than once that if we ditched in the North Sea we would have pretty much no chance of getting out - despite having trained for that possibility! Having said that it never ceased to amaze me how they seemed to be able to land in the most horrendous offshore weather conditions.
  13. Wow!! I didn't know it was possible to get knives that sharp! Many thanks for sharpening my knives yesterday - they are an absolute joy to use now. Ultra Sharp is a very apt name.
  14. Good grief - what utter nonsense you are talking. TAs doing 30% of a teachers work - don't make me laugh. I have a teaching assistant in two of my lessons each week to help support a student with severe special educational needs. 30 years ago that student would have been in a special school, not a normal comprehensive.
